I would add that I think the economic and evironmental cost of the "wear it once, wash it immediately" brigade is unsustainable.
In my case, while I may change my clothes a couple of times a day I don't wash them immediately. They get put in the hamper for washing but as I only do two washes a week if there's too much to fit in the machine then they just have to wait.
I don't wash my clothes excessively.0 -

undies obviously changed at least daily and more if I shower or bath more than once. though bras might get a second day depending

tops changed daily - I tend to try to get a bit of exercise in by walking etc so can get a bit hot and sweaty. Trousers washed every second wear as they start going out of shape but can stretch to a third day if needs be. Skirts almost never washed unless they get something spilt on them or go out of shape - I always wear tights so they're never against skin.
Gym stuff is changed from the skin out after every wear.
Nightie I tend to throw in when I'm doing a wash so prob a couple of times a week.
I would probably be more likely to give tops etc a second day if I didn't try to get some exercise though...
We do wash things far too much!0 -
When I started reading this thread I thought I was really bad but am so glad to see not everybody is a clean freak
Undies and socks I change every day but other stuff will usually get at least 2 wears, assuming I've gone out and got dead sweaty, mucky etc. I couldn't cope with the washing if the 4 of us here did that...was bad enough when my teenage son was going out with a girl whose family smoked as he was putting everything in the wash every night.
I figure that if I've worn a top for a few hours in an evening it could easily be worn again, considering that on another day I might wear the same top all day. I wouldnt take a spare to change into halfway through a day out!0 -
My washer is never off! Me and my toddler change everything daily, and knickers are twice a day
If it ain't reduced, i don't buy it! :j0 -
Fresh underwear, and sock or tights daily. I work in a hot office so only wear a top once or dresses once. Skirts and trousers get worn twice and jeans and hoodies/cardigans as and when i need to wash. Jammies when worn, only get used once. Coats and dressing gown get washed as needed.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

Wear underwear, socks and t-shirts once (I cycle so I sweat), but use trousers, jumpers appr. 3 or 4 times though not in a row:). Nightie is in wash once a week.0

Don't wear them.
saves on washing
I agree... at least in summertime... sometimes it's a bit cold and hubby is on nightshift so I put on a pair of cosy jammies, the trick is though, when buying jammies to make sure they look like a sweater and bottoms, that way you can wear them round the house too...:)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I don't want to know why anyone who showers daily would need to change their knickers twice...:rotfl:
I shower in the morning and am not a particularly sweaty or smelly person, so would normally wear the same underwear all day.
I agree it's different if I have a second shower later in the day before going out, I wouldn't put worn underwear back on again.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
