zcrat, i know how you feel and i have forever been going to the gym to stay the same weight or lose. since i had meningitis years ago i have always battled with my weight and have to be so careful. i was on a diet before i got married, but since the miscarriage this year, i gained weight and then i started just being careful (well tried) with food and now i have gained. the thing is i am seeing weight gain in this case as a positive thing and iknow i can always work hard to lose it later. i have seen so many women (including my sis in law) struggle with giving birth and energy levels, as they just care about their weight.
i guess before my miscarriage i did think 'what about my gym, kung fu and weight?'. i have let it go now and will buy bigger clothes as i know i have after the birth to work on it. and people say when you start breast feeding, you lose weight.
try and not worry too much as like yourself i cant be a one size. i am also extremes, but i wont worry now.enjoy the foods you crave and then there is always later to lose nah? xx
ps. my 9 weeks are from the day of my last period.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Zcrat don't worry about weight gain while pregnant hun just try not to over do it with foods, but if you have sickness this can be easier said than done. You don't really need to eat for two just be more sensible about what you are eating to ensure plenty of calcium for baby etc. It's only towards the end that you need any extra calories and even then I think it's only around 200-300 extra a day. Also bear in mind that the majority of weight you do gain will be baby, placenta, waters etc and also you've lost a lot of weight already and with a baby to run around after I'm sure you won't struggle to lose it again. I'm another one who lost a lot of weight and got pregnant, I will be going back on an eating plan after baby but that's just because I hadn't got quite to target when I got pregnant.
The weeks are calculated from the first day of your last period. You will also see numbers with a + 2, +3 after them etc. This means the days so for example I'm 21+6 so 21 weeks and 6 days. If you google due date calculators there are a lot out there where you can put in the first day of your last period and it will work it out for you and also tell you how many weeks and days you are, they normally tell you the dates each trimester ends too.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Sa-ra-ra-ra I am supposed to be going to the recurrent miscarriage clinic in St Mary's on June 7 but I phoned them to check it is OK to go while pregnant (as it will be my first appointment) and they have cancelled my appointment without telling me! Apparently because I did it through Choose and book it booked me for the wrong clinic. I am waiting for a call back from them but I had to push! So I may not be able to go there after all.
I called my local EPU in Reading and they said they 'don't do reassurance scans' so I called the Miscarriage association who said to try the other hospital I am allowed to be under, John Radcliffe in Oxford, and they said the same thing
So I cannot access hand-holding at all. It is not available here. Despite the guidelines.
I am hoping St Mary's will still see me and will do it there but I am not sure as I have not seen them yet.
I feel like the NHS is saying they don't care if my baby dies, they won;t help me do all I can to help it survive:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I'm worried about the weight gain with pregnancy too, suffering from an ED and all. I'm 12 weeks and still not really showing.
We had friends come around earlier and they asked when I'm going to start to show! Not so bothered at the moment because at least all my summer clothes still fit for now! lol.2019 Wins

Sadly for us Morocha, we have lost so many babies that we won;t buy a thing till we are well past 6 months. We also have lots now as we have had DD and many of my friends have had second babies so I will be able to borrow anything I haven; got from DD.
But even with her we didn;t buy anything for a long time as we had a mc in our first pregnancy.
It's very different when you haven;t had losses, as you still have that joy and feeling of certainty, but for me, pregnancy means I am pregnant, not that I am having a baby, if you get what I mean.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Skintchick unfortunately I know exactly where you are coming from. I am 24 weeks this week and only just bought some maternity trousers today because I really really need them. Still don't think we have bought anything for baby - almost did but was out of stock.
I have been entering baby competitions and won a few small things which although I am actively entering them I don't have the same dread as I do buying things.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
