A bit of understanding from my midwife wouldn't go amiss though.
What a horrible attitude from the midwife! That's awful. I really do hope this one is forever and that you keep that PMA up - I can't imagine how hard that must be though0 -
Just rang the doctors thinking they might tell me to go away and ring back in 6 weeks or something but I'm booked in for an appt next Thurs - exciting stuff.
Dad just told me I'm looking fat in my jeans (farmers aren't known for their tact!) - how hard was it not to respond "I'll be getting quite a bit fatter"!0 -
morning all.
skintchick, so sorry to read that your mw is being an absolute so and so.i would bug the hospital as you need to be under specialist care no? i know what yu mean about regular scans though. all could be ok in week 7 and then who knows? i am dreading that but trying to keep the PMA too. lots of hugs. xxx

Well I just did a test and the line came up immediately plus my back hurts and boobs are excruciating so all the praying I did last night has been listened to. Yay!
Am hoping MW tomorrow will be nicer and more sympathetic.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hi Skintchick, if I were you I'd go back to the dr armed with the RCOG guidelines and ask to be referred to a recurrent miscarriage specialist, even though you're now pregnant again. If you've had three miscarriages since you had your DD, it's possible that you've developed an autoimmune disorder or there's something up with your thyroid since you had her, and you deserve for it to be investigated. Is your OH your DD's dad? Becuase if not, it could be that he has something which is causing a problem - possibly a clotting disorder or similar which is causing problems with placenta development (as the placenta is half him, half you...).
In addition, hand-holding is definitely recognised as a valid tool in preventing recurrent miscarriage, as you know - I don't know if it was because we saw a consultant a lot and had more scans or not, but this pregnancy has worked out where the previous ones didn't for us, and I think there is some truth in it. I can't believe that your dr wouldn't refer you for an early reassurance scan - mine offered after our first MC.
Kick up a fuss! Unfortunately (and I do think the NHS is an amazing thing for us to have), quite often it's the person who shouts loudest who gets the most attention.0 -
zcrat, when i went to the midwife, i got weighed and i have put on weight. i feel it as well and my clothes are tighter. the weird thing is that by mistake the mw said my weight out aloud and i didnt want DH to hear it, but he did, and then later when i saw the inlaws, my mil said i look bigger (she knows about it, however they are obsessed about weight and slimming down and she is always on a diet) so i got a bit embrassed and then DH started adding in the bit about where they took me away to weigh me and then the mw forgot, so he stupidly mentioed my weight to the inlaws. i was mortified.. he can be so silly at times.
maybe am being too sensitive but its due to me being pregnant that i have put on weight and not me just being fat, so its ok.
hehe

Hi all. I have just had my early scan. We saw a little heart beat and yolk sack, so very happy. Although they said I am 5 weeks but I think I am 6 to 7. They said not to worry as heartbeat seen and they will scan me again in 2 weeks. But I am pretty sure I am at least 6 weeks as I know when I ovulated. I am so happy we saw a heart beat and it is not ectopic again, but am a bit worried about the dating. Have any of you had a similar experience? Is it something to worry about?0

Candlewax, I was certain of my dates too having temped and used OPK's, however all my scans have put me a week ahead of that. It's very hard to determine your dates so early on so it's possible they will change again at the next scan, thats why the scans are normally done around 12 weeks as it's easier to measure and then determine gestation then so I wouldn't worry about it too much hun xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

lovely seeing a heartbeat isn't it? I saw mine at 6 weeks too and the doc said the heartbeat starts around that time, as 5 weeks may be early, but like ikkle said dates could keep changing. yay for you though. its just amazing to see the little heartbeat.
i saw mine 3 weeks ago so now i have to wait till my 12 week scan. praying time passes quickly.

Rups - I'm a bit nervous of putting on weight. I lost 6 stone 2 years ago and have got pretty used to permanently being on WW. I'm a bit worried that I will now use pg as an excused to completely forget my good habits and go back to my old ones. I'm quite an all or nothing person and I'm never a normal size 12 - I'm a 10 or a 20!!
Candlewax, that's good news and exciting! Makes me smile that you see a yolk sac - it really does remind me of eggs.
When you guys all talk about being 5 or 6 weeks are you talking from ov or from the 1st day of your last period?0
