IWSM - so sorry to hear of your loss, please take time to look after yourself xxx

With regards as to when we are telling people, for me quite a lot of people already know. I wanted to tell my mum as soon as I knew, which meant OH then wanted to tell his mum and dad. Our siblings know (which in turn means it has managed to make its way around some more of the family), I have also told my boss because my job can involve alot of heavy lifting etc...
Will make a proper announcement to extended family and friends when we know everything is ok at scan.

We've decided not to tell anyone until after our scan - I'm bursting at the seams to tell everyone but DH is much more cautious than me. I've got my booking appointment tomorrow and I'm going to talk to the midwife about telling my boss because I'm fairly sure lifting 25kg bags of spuds isn't doing me or bubs much good! I'm 8 weeks today and fully intending to eat nothing but pancakes all day :D
  • IWSM - I know words don't offer any sort of comfort, but I really am very sorry to read your update. I wish you all the very best.

Re: Telling people, I cant stop. (I know, im setting myself up for a fall). Told Felix, the dog, both sets of neighbours, my parents, my partners family, my friends....the list goes on.
My rational is that I want to enjoy this pregnancy so matter how long it lasts and that includes the people around me enjoying it too. I think I have overcome the hardest thing I will ever have to face so what will be will be.

Felt a little bit sick this morning, but nothing to ride home about. I've become totally paranoid that something has gone wrong already. Im convinced I have no symptoms....but I keep telling myself that this time last year I ddnt even know I was pregnant. Gawd I can't half ramble on - apologies!

Hope everyone is feeling happy and positive today.

P.S - Found another test down the side of the bathroom cabinet so did that this morning..Ha. I am ridiculous.

Well i decided to chase up my midwife appointment this am so phoned the hospital. They have said" oh we recieved your info and have handed your info over to your local midwife, but it's a good job you called as you are booked in for a scan this am at 11.30 " it was 10.30 am when i phoned up. The receptionist then said "has nobody told you" erm no i have not spoken or recieved anything from a midwife. "Oh that's a bit of a problem then" yeah just a bit. So i now booked in for my scan next thursday. How unorganised is that.

hulagirl79 that's terrible. I'd be fuming at that. The weeks go by so slowly during this early bit and it doesn't help when you aren't informed of appointments and dates.
I hope the midwife is extremely apologetic when she finally gets in touch with you. I wonder how many other pregnant women in your area she's not got in touch with. Can you ring up the GP surgery the MW is attached to to get hold of her?

Well the midwife has now just phoned up no apologies or explanation. I tried to get my booking in appointment on the same day as scan but they dont do them on that day. So have now changed my scan to fit in with that appointment. The hospital have been very helpful midwife not so much so but will give them the benefit of the doubt. So now i just have to take 1 days holiday instead of time off here and there. X
