  • Lovely scan pick! I went into Felix's box this morning and looked at the 12 week of him. *sigh* I miss him.

Got an appointment with my GP at 4pm. Apparently I have to go and see him, then get him to refer me back to the consultant. Ridiculous NHS systems! I am hoping they will offer me an early scan - save me paying for one. I would like to think I am entitled to one given the circumstances. I hope he doesnt suggest I get in touch with the midwife - that woman should not be allowed to practice.

Had a chat with my mother last night, about me wanting an early scan, and her response was "Why would you want to do that, it would be a waste of money. It might show its alive one day but it may not be the next"........Yeah thanks mum. After seeing what i went through I had hoped she would be a little more supportive this time....Erugh.

Can I ask people's opinions on using Felix again (but as a middle name) if this baby is a boy? I can think of reasons to and reasons not to.

My brother was born after a 'placentral abruption' (sp?) and lived a few hours, me & my dad met him, but my mum was still under general anaesetic (Sp!) and he died before she came to.

My brother & my sister had his name as middle names I think to keep his memory & remind them he was important in our lives. His photos (in incubator) are in the house. They are here because he wasn't as mum wouldn't have tried so soon if he had lived, so later down the line different egg = different child (not the same personality etc, so different people really)

I lost a close family member last year (not old age) and I'm thinking of somehow including their name as middle name, not sure yet. But losing them was part of the life changes which made me decide to try for a baby, so seems right/nice.

I'd discuss with your partner, and if your both happy, go for it. He may have a different opinion?

And my sister was 51 weeks older than me, she died aged 30 days. My younger half sister has her name as one of her middle names which really upset me. I don't have a middle name but would have been honoured to have had her name as mine and I was gutted I wasn't good enough to have it but my half sister was... it should be noone has it or I should have.. ok so I am still hurt by that!

My second daughter has the name as her middle name.

How awful for your mum, I can only imagine what that must have felt like :(

Everything you have said is exactly why we want to use the name :) If F had lived, I wouldnt be pregnant right now. It was my partner that suggested using Felix as a middle name actually, and I sort of agree with him.

He will always be special and will always link me and my partner so matter what happens between us. I will tell this baby (and any future ones) all about him, and he is always discussed. I will always write birthday/christmas/any other celebration cards from me, my partner, Felix and the dog! (And baby no.2 when s/he arrives).

I am feeling so happy right now!

Here is a link to a pic of Felix if anybody wants to see. The photo doesn't do him justice. All the white stuff on his face is that downy sort of hair babies have, it just hadnt totally come off him yet. You can't see on the picture, but he had lots and lots of black curly hair :D Gorgeous.

I'm sorry if it upsets anyone, I will remove the link if so.

    Well hes content isn't he!

Im still having baby dreams, only going to get worse over the next 20 weeks! I tend to be asleep in my dream lying next to my sleeping baby.

My boyfriend said the funniest things last night and he has no idea how much I am going to latch onto them...

"When your kid is old enough I want to take it on an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt"....my conclusion from that is we have at least another 2 years :P

When discussing a youtube video where the llama says "Kaaarrrrllll" at the beginning, in relation to when Ross says Rachel instead of Emily.
I said " When I get married I'm going to go Karrrrrllll at the Altar"
His response "My brother is called Karl I'd find that weird"

So yes I will deduce all I want from those two conversations. I resisted the urge to go DO YOU WANT TO MARRY ME! See this is what happens, I've only known him since January and I've decided hes perfect. Gosh....he needs to stay perfect till the end of the year at least, don't want to be a heartbroken heavily pregnant woman.

Also went to his house for the first time in a while, since the last time he has told his sister and mum I am pregnant (not his dad though) and reminds me that they are okay with it. Which made me even more nervous on the walk to his house. So I had to be extra smiley.

Is there anyone else who doesn't have a bump at 20 weeks? I mean my tummy is slightly rounded, not much probably added an extra inch on.

It took me a long time to want to show anyone, but now I would happily display him to the world. I just wish more people could have seen him in real life, as I said, photo's dont do him justice.

He was quite tiny yes - although he had HUGE hands and feet! No idea where he got them from - me and daddy are both shorta$$'s! :D

Well a week with no internet, no laptop and no forums! How have I coped?!?

I think the fact I've spent most of it throwing up or sleeping has kept me distracted but means I'm about 16 pages behind on this forum so hope everyone's ok.

Am 9 weeks tomorrow and hoping this extreme nausea stops soon, literally bored of it! :o
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

Hello again everyone, sorry I haven't been on for a while but haven't been able to get to a computer. I have been lurking (on my phone) and it is so lovely to hear about everyone's experiences and know that I am not going mad obsessing about every little tummy ache :)

I'm 9+4 today and had my booking in appointment at the weekend. The midwife said there was glucose, protein and leucocytes in my urine. My sister is diabetic so the glucose is not a huge surprise... I had blood taken and they are going to test it for diabetes and I should find out tomorrow if I have it or not. Not sure what the other two things mean but the midwife didn't seem worried about it so I'm not going to worry either.

I've been booked in as a low-risk pregnancy, but the midwife warned me that could change due to my family history as there are diabetes, hip dislocations, thyroid problems, high blood pressure and kidney problems in mine and my OH's families. I know I will have to have an extra scan at 28 weeks to check on bump's kidneys.

RedWoodBrook, thank you for sharing those pictures of Felix with us. He was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous :A
