thanks sexy mouse.. he didnt really say much which is why i was panicking. think he may just have read my note on the form regarding the pain and he did mention to have a scan to rule out ectopic even though he said my blood test was re-assuring. dont knw what they saw in the blood test? they just baffle me all the time.. am trying to look up pain stuff but i dont really want to read about ectopic as i will get scared. lol... also i know people say the pain has to be like killing you.. mine is just there all the time and i know this sounds weird but i am at that stage where i cant even differentiate between normal and excruciating! how dumb?

There would possibly be 2 egg sacs on the scan if it were fraternal twins, but if they are identical, and sharing an egg sac, I guess they look for 2 heartbeats instead of 1. I think (although I'm not 100% sure about this) that the hcg levels would be higher if it were a multiple conception.

oh right. thanks for that.. i always learn new things from this forum.
am going to try and not worry... if it gets worse, will have to bug DH to take me to A&E. we dont have a car so that would be a nightmare. grrr.. the doc did say if i had bleeding or excess pain, then to go to the hosp. i dont want that so i am hoping i am ok till wednesday. thanks so much sexymouse.

No worries Rups - if it's any consolation, I had bleeding and pains at exactly the same point in my pregnancy, and ended up at A&E on a Friday night. They did a urine test to confirm the pregnancy and a couple of blood tests (never did get the results of these as they told us to go home as it could be a long wait). Our EPU is only open Monday - Friday, so I had to wait for a couple of days for my scan too. Luckily everything turned out to be ok, and I'm 20 weeks today.

Poor thing. The worry it must have caused you. i am glad all is ok with you now. wow 20 weeks. can't wait to get there one day soon.

yes i will just wait and go on wednesday. hope i don't have to visit the A&E. fingers crossed. thanks so much. xx

Hi Rups,

This bank holiday last year I started bleeding and went down to A and E where I was for about 6 hours. The doctor checked my blood pressure and felt around my tummy. He then sent me home to return on the Tuesday for a scan at EPU because they didn't do scans in A&E.

After a weekend full of tears thinking we had lost the baby went to EPU on Tuesday morning to be told all was well and in fact there were two babies.

If you do find that you have to go to A&E they will check for an Ectopic but will leave anything to do with the baby to EPU when they open after the bank holiday. Just wanted to warn you so that you aren't too shocked if they don't do as much as you would expect and want. Their priority is your health.

moneypenny does it coincide with when your period would've been due? This is the most common time to get spotting in early pregnancy. It can also happen if you have sex, and you shouldn't worry too much unless it's accompanied by pain or the bleeding is bright red or heavy.
