emylou, i hope you do get the results you want after all that! they should be apologising after causing so much havoc. grr

as for me, i didnt have my scan. have just got in a little while ago. it was a wasted trip. long wait but i just grinned and beared it. that staff at croydon was more friendlier than St Thomas's anyway. i was basically told its way too early to scan as i am just over 5 weeks, so i have been given an appointment in 2 weeks. :0( i then gave some blood and then came to work.. sigh.. i just wanted to know everything is ok.. you know? i asked the nurse about my pain, she suggested paracetamol. i mean its not too much but just discomfort. :-(

those antibiotics have messed up my belly and i feel sick off to get something to eat that might hopefully make me feel a bit better.

thanks emsbet. am just trying not to think too much about it. the nurse was nice and said to be as positive as i can, and they will check me when i am around 6.5 weeks which is in two weeks. so i have to keep busy and try and forget about it. gulp. saying that the nausea will prob try and keep me busy as i feel so sick and dont know what to eat or drink. i normally have 2 litres of water a day and nowadays i am off water too.

oh Rups sorry you didnt get any reassurance - I think from their point of view if they were to scan you and not see whats expected at 5 weeks (ie you were a few days out in your dates) that would cause you more stress and worry than the wait will. Shame they let you book and attend the appointment without telling you that though !

everything was fine with our scan, will keep checking the thread to see how you are doing x x

thanks for all your lovely words, ive had a little bit of sickness back and my boobies are still hurting so im going to try and stop worrying and just wait for the next scan, going to try and take my mind off it, but it is easier said than done.

oh saw me the other day feeling my boobies asking me what i was doing, :rotfl: i told him i was still checking they were hurting, im sure he thinks im going mad

abis21- sorry to hear your sickness is back again, hoping you managed to get some food and liquid down you, perhpas you should go back on the ice lollies.:T

rups- Hoping your cough is feeling a little bit better.
dont mean to worry you but does your doctor know your are pregnant to give your antibitotics?
just checking to be safe as last time i was pregnant i had a mouth abscess with my wisdom tooth and they refused to give me antibioitcs even though i begged just because i was pregnant. it might be because perhpas i have a harsh doctor or perhaps the type of antibitotics make a difference maybe?

i didnt realised you were over 5 weeks, i think most epu's dont scan untill after 6.5 weeks or something similar so they can see the heartbeat,but in the meantime you can have blood tests every 3 days to make sure the hcg levels are rising. have you got to go back for another blood test to compare with the one from today?
Hopefully the next couple of weeks will go quickly for you.

miska- glad to hear your scan was good as well, did you find out what team you are on?

emylou- good job you managed to keep on with your gp, that is scary they dont seem to know what to do. Hoping you get your results quickly and all is ok.

Shame they couldn't do your scan Rups - especially after they booked an appointment for you. At least you have another date booked in to focus on, so hopefully that is some comfort for you. This is all they would have seen if they had have scanned you: http://www.baby2see.com/development/ultrasound_sonogram/first_trimester_scans.html#week5 You can't see a heartbeat until after 6 weeks, which is one of the reasons they advise to wait until after then for an early scan. At 5 weeks, your baby is just 5mm in length, so its v hard to spot.

Emylou & Ickle - I hope you get your blood test results back soon and that you are both imunised against it already. Will be thinking of you both.

Cleofish - glad to hear your boobs are still hurting :rotfl:;):p Less than 3 weeks til your scan - it'll soon pass. Try not to worry too much in the meantime.

Kavics - How are you doing? Did you decide whether to tell your boss yet?

AFM - Still suffering Haven't actually been sick today or yesterday, but have done some retching and just feeeeeeel sick most of the day long. And I am SO fussy when it comes to eating! I am really doing my own head in with the eating thing. I normally LOVE my food - so this is most unusual for me.

I've lost nearly a stone now through sickness and just not being able to eat. Altho on the plus side I am doing mych better with my liquids at the moment - so no worries on the dehydration front at the moment.

I've been feeling very lethargic, just had no energy all week - which I imagine is partly due to the lack of food intake I am managing. I've been in bed for 7-8pm every night this week and am managing between 11-12 hours sleep per night. And then I still wake up tired the next day :eek: Was meant to be at a party tonight, but have had to cancel as no doubt I will be in bed before it properly starts :rotfl:

Only 5 sleeps til my scan - soooo excited about that. And we are going away to the seaside this weekend so hopefully it will fly by. Hoping very much that I will be able to manage some fish and chips - altho my brother had some at the garage today which had me retching from the smell - so I'm not over confident

I keep trying out with my doppler every few days - but I can't hear anything yet other than my own heartbeat - which I was surprised at as I can hear this in several different locations in my tummy. I think I am only 9+5 tho, as oposed to the midwife's calculations that I am 11+6 - so I'm not over worried at the moment. Would just love to be able to hear it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I went for my scan on wednesday thinking I was 13+1. They found that the baby had only developed to 9 weeks and that there was no heartbeat. the worst bit was having to be admitted and induced on friday. It took hours and lots of tears and they didnt let me come home til yesterday lunchtime. Bit of a grim bh weekend. Plus its hubbys 30th today and we had big plans weve had to cancel

Not sure if you are aware but there is a miscarriage thread on this board, lots of lovely ladies post on there offering support and I found it a great help when I had my last mc.

Moneypenny - if things are successful, I think I'll be put back to 14/12 as I'm pretty sure I ov'd on 24/03 and I have 37 day cycles.

Feeling rather poo today with a bit of runny botty (sorry ) and vomiting. Stayed in bed all day with the dog lying beside me for company (DH is out at some football match).
