Thanks - I "made one earlier" when I had my booking in appointment at home, and my midwife asked me to do another one as it had to be in a special steralized container that had boric acid in it or something. All I know is the tube she gave me was tiny! lol
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I was just given a container which I'm sure wasn't sterilised (especially as I was given it back to use again) and then on the day the midwife dipped a stick in to test there and then and also took a sample in a syringe to send away.

I have my midwife appointments at the hospital and just do my sample when I get there. Much better than the little tubes it is a large round pot. I am lucky that my hospital (Lewisham) have the newer scanners so don't need to fill my bladder before hand.

Snowbean if you are having the nuchal test they have to do it at a certain time. I think it is between 12-14weeks (not certain) plus previous scans aren't that accurate. My scan a month ago put me back a week but the consultant won't change the details until 12 weeks because it may change again and that is the date that they will go by.

thanks Kitten, I'm hoping that's what they'll say. Although, not sure if we're going to have the nuchal test, think we need to talk about it some more.

We are having the test at this stage because it is non invasive (blood test and scan) If anything were to show up I don't think we would go on to have the amnio but would treat it as a heads up.

    Morning ladies :)

Little Miss Money Saver - congratulations on your scan. How did the NHS get your dates so far out though?!

Kitten Pie - good luck for today, I'll be thinking of you :)

We went to see my brother in Yorkshire over the weekend, and my nephew who's just 1 :) he's such a cutie, just started walking and he's really cheeky :smileyhea We told them our news, they're dead excited :D They've also just booked their wedding for New Year's Eve, though we're not sure if we'll be able to make it with a 4-6 week old baby (assuming it arrives on or after EDD!). Might be a good opportunity to take baby to meet all the family up there though, DH's grandma can't really travel, so we'll have to go to her at some point anyway, and I have an aunt and an uncle in the same town, plus DH has 2 other uncles nearby! We won't be short of places to stay anyway!

I'm feeling very anxious that I'll have a miscarriage, I've just checked on the TTC thread and out of all of us who got a BFP last month 50% have miscarried :(
