I'm glad the spotting is gone LittleMood! Excellent news!
Congrats to Sexymouse, Candycane and mishkanorman on getting their scan dates (or being in the process of!).
Question: when are you supposed to get your scans? I thought the first one was supposed to be between 8-12ish but I've just read that someone had one at 6 (sorry, can't remember who!).
moneypuddle - I'm sorry to hear that your best friend is being so difficult. I can't help wondering if she's been TTC without any luck so maybe feeling a little jealous of you?
T-Sil - That's great news!
I haven't got much to report this end. I'm about 8+5 today and still waiting to hear from mw. Well, I can't really complain as I only went to see the nurse for a referral last week!
Not sure if anyone can help with this... I wasn't planning on telling anyone else (apart from my parents) because I'll be a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding in about 4 weeks time and I didn't want to steal their thunder. But now I'm worried I may be showing then and people may get upset I haven't told them before. Will it be obvious? Or can I get away with the 'I've put a few pounds on' and tell the truth a week or so later?:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -

For some reason, moneypuddle, your friend doesn't want to share your excitement. You don't know why this is, although you might well have some ideas. But the fact remains, that's how she feels and it's about her, not you.
You could ask her why, but I doubt it would help. She'll probably feel defensive and it will give even more credence to her views (however unfair) that you're baby-obsessed. If she's struggling with fertility herself, or just plain jealous, the worse thing you can do is expose this. She'll resent you for it. I really don't think there's much you can do, other than hope she comes round to the idea. Only time will tell whether this is something your friendship can weather but in the meantime, if you want to share your joy, you're going to have to talk to someone else. You can't force your friend to be excited for you, and the more conflict that arises because she's being dismissive and you're feeling hurt, the more damage your relationship might sustain.
One quick thing (and this is not meant as a criticism - just trying to see everyone's point of view)... you listed a few email conversations. Do you email about anything other than being pregnant, or is all your correspondence at the moment about the baby? We pregnant ladies need to remember that not everyone wants to talk endlessly about babies

hi bikeless chick! just popping in but thought I would try and answer. If this is your first baby, like me and you've never had cause for concern, like me (though the paranoia is immense) then your first scan wont be until week 10 and 12 in my area. Mine was on what i thought was 11+4 and i got put to 12 weeks.
I am now 16 weeks and only just showing. I thought I popped last week at 15 but it was and still is just chubby and I think only because I'm tall and used to be slim, I now look huge to me. Plus, I work as a dance teacher so seeing myself in mirrors, I think, woah!! but my measurements haven't changed much so I think at 12 weeks, unless your body has been pregnant before, you'll just look a bit rounder if like me, you could only stomahc eating rubbish food. If I was you, I wouldn't tell for the same reasons and just be prepared to say you've put on a bit of weight and are now detoxing - hence the not drinking!!
(((hugs to all))) blood test for downs later today then midwife tomorrow so i'm starting to get paranoid again there is nothing in there, but have had lower stomach pains for the last few days so that coupled with growing flab makes me think there may be, hmmm.

Hi Bikeless chick!
Last time I didn't show until I was around 20weeks and there were two.
This time I am showing already at 12 weeks but they say you show quicker with subsequent pregnancies. I am not telling anyone until I absolutely have to so 20 weeks if I can. Lots of baggy tops and dresses. Hoping it warms up quickly then I can get away with maxi dresses which I lived in last year

afternoon ladies

still no more spotting for me, so fingers crossed it was a one-off occurence.
We went to see Richard Herring last night, which was brilliant, but we didn't get home til after 11, and I've been going to bed about 930 for the last week, so feel like a zombie today.
Still no real symptoms for me, sore nipples and occasional extreme bloating, but DH keeps staring at my chest, he says he can practically see it growing :rotfl:
T-Sil, so glad your scan was ok
Exciting that lots of scan dates are coming through :j I haven't heard from the midwives or the endo consultant following my referrals last Friday, if I don't hear anything from consultant by monday will ring gp and chase up.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

I'm massive and have been for quite a while now, but this is my fourth pregnancy and with my first two I put on 5stone and 4 1/2 stone which all went on my stomach so ive always been left with a rounded (fat) tummy.
i tend to find i bloat out early on and then sort of stay the same for weeks till it pops out into a proper bumb !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais
