Congrats T-sil.
Moneypuddle - sounds like your friend thinks you are stealing her thunder, as l gather she is getting married? Hence the you are telling people too early comment. Maybe try to not talk baby all Yeh time and re-assure her you are still doing stuff for her hen night. Maybe tell her when you are planning to tell your joint friends too? As in, maybe not before the wedding if poss? If she continues to be disinterested, have a frank conversation with her. You dint want to be saddled with a selfish friend.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I've just come back from the doctors. We have Scarlett Fever in our office, and lve been ill for two days, woke up this morning with a rash. The doc is insisting it can't be sf as he hasn't seen it for 25 years. He thinks the sickness and rash are unrelated, and the rash might be chicken pox. He is a pretty crap doctor - he misdaignosed our neighbour's melanoma - so keep your fingers crossed for me that he is wrong. I've got to stay at home and go back tomorrow do he can look to see if blisters have developed.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Have you had chicken pox before ? I got it when i was 18 and it was a rash to start with all over my stomach, then it turned into spots.

Hi Girls
Everything was perfect! PHEW! Measuring right on at 8+3, and a good strong heartbeat. She let me hear it too, it was amazing. I can start to see the arms and legs forming, eeek! I was convinced it was going to be bad news.
Thanks for all the support
I'm going to read back and comment on what you have all been chatting about now!

Taaadaa, I'm just lurking here from TTC, but don't wait for your GP. Phone your local hospital and ask advice from the obstetric registrar on call there. If it is chicken pox, and you haven't had it before, then you can be given a jab now which will give you the appropriate antibodies and protect the baby. Waiting until you are seriously ill with it will be too late. Chicken pox in the first and third trimesters can cause serious problems to the baby. I was exposed when I was 6 weeks pregnant with my last child, and my GP was also clueless about what the risks were and what to do, but I was also under consultant care, so phoned him and he knew the answer imediately. You can have a blood test at this point which will show whether you are immune to chicken pox or not and whether there is any cause for concern.0

I think l had it when l was a kid, but apparently some people could get it twice. It could harm the foetus. But l can't sit here worrying until tomorrow afternoon, and if it is there's nothing l can do about it.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Not sure if we cross posted, but that's not the case. There is a protocol, which involves being injected with antibodies now to protect the baby, but you need a blood test first, as distribution of the antibodies are controlled. With me, they did the test in the morning, and called back at lunchtime with the results. If I'd needed the injection, they would have got it in, and administered it by later that afternoon. Seriously, speak to the antenatal department at your local hospital, as they will know what to do.0
