I second what the other guys have said. Sometimes you don't know what other people have been through. I have a friend who is obviously jealous and she is not in a relationship at the moment so although not trying I know that she just feels so far away from what she wants.

AFM, had my booking in appointment today. They gave me a really quick scan too (which I wasn't expecting) so saw the heartbeat to put my mind at rest before going through the book. I am now 10+3 and not 11+4 which I knew but liked being closer to 12 weeks. So now EDD 22.09.2012 however did discuss the option of being induced at 36 weeks which my mw and councillor have both said they will support when the time comes.

Lovely that you got an extra sneaky scan :) Good news that they will support an early induction for you.

    xx

Only all the time Taadaa, but you just have to try and stay positive, theres no way to stop anything bad going wrong all you can do is stay positive and hope things go right.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Same here taadaa, I am coping by just putting it to the back of my mind and not thinking about it. This doesn't work well.:D

There's not much you can do, Taadaa. Anxiety and trepidation just come with the territory, I'm afraid. Early pregnancy's hard work. I got to thinking last night about some of the symptoms I had...

    Nausea
    Vomiting
    Extreme Tiredness
    Palpitations
    Dizziness
    Headaches
    Itchy skin
    Horrible taste in my mouth
    Sensitivity to smells
    Indigestion
    Pelvic pain
    Sore ligaments
    Sore boobs
    Anxiety
    Panic attacks
    Mood swings
    Tearfulness
    Restlessness/lack of concentration
    Insomnia
    Excessive saliva/mucus
    Feeling cold all the time
    Constipation

... if you had that little lot without being pregnant you'd be in the ICU! :D

  • Hi everyone,
Can I join too please? I've been lurking for a while now so I'm 10+4ish. Having my first midwife appointment this afternoon so I'm a bit nervous what to expect. She's spoken to me on the phone to book the appt and sounds nice. It's our first baby so really we've no idea what to expect really :-) she said the appt is for an hour so hopefully no tricky questions!

hi, welcome to the thread !

We are 2 days apart as im currently 10+2 :)

booking in appointments are ALOT of paperwork, nothing majorly tricky but it helps to know yours/partners family history for all the major things (diabetes, birth defeats, blood pressure etc) Its mainly lot of backround info for anything that may effect pregnancy and your health.

She will also take blood, weigh you, blood pressure etc you will also be given your notes pack with the first bounty pack booklet with a voucher for the next one which you collect from sainsbury's, boots and someone else i cant think of right now !

Let us know how you get on :)

  • Hi, can I join this thread too?

I have no idea of how far I am, possibly just over 6 weeks. I'd been reading the TTC thread with the intention of joining it then realised AF was a bit too late, even for me (v irregular!), tested and got a BFP!

I'm obviously very happy but a tad scared too if I'm honest as I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing or not doing!

I've only just moved and haven't even got a GP yet, so it's my top priority (after finishing this!).

Btw, any tips on what I'm supposed to be doing or not doing are welcome. My DOs list include: take folic acid and multivitamins, eat healthily, exercise moderately. DON'Ts: raw fish, and some other fish/seafood (I've got a list), alcohol, nuts, stilton, stress (this is going to be hard!). Anything else?

Off to doctors now. Talk later.

Hi and welcome bikeless chick, there isn't a huge amount to avoid but here should help:

Hey Twinkle, I gave birth to my boys in October (just over 4months ago) and am now just under 12 weeks pregnant. All going well I will give birth to 3 children in one year, possibly even one school year.

Not sure if you know my story so to save bringing it back for those who do know:
