Welcome to the thread scottishchick! Nice to see some graduates being brave enough to post on here - we don't seem to have had as many this month who have actually posted on here.

Well I'm off to watch the last Call the Midwife now.

    Night all!

Hi all, not a graduate but wanted to say hi. I found out today l am three weeks pregnant.. :) didn't think l would be as DH had a sore neck, thought we had missed the window! I've got a bloated tum and sore boobicles, some very slight nausea lasting a few seconds as well. Hasn't quite sunk in yet! Haven't told anyone yet.

Welcome Taadaa, we missed Ovulation too so was quite surprised.

We haven't told anyone yet either, trying to hold out until 20 weeks due to previous issues.

welcome scottish girl, and tadaa :)

My baby is going to make me very healthy as the slightest sight, taste or smell of anything greasy/fatty makes me want to vomit can't even put butter on jacket potatoes. At the minute I'm loving grapes, ham salad sandwiches and veggies. Like today I've had swede and carrot mash, new potatoes, sprouts a tiny bit of gammon and then gave my beloved yorkshire puds to OH.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Feeling really yuck today! Last night was the first time that I've been sick in the evening - unfortunately it was after dinner and after I'd taken my folic acid and vitamin D. I've got burst blood vessels all around my eyes, and the last thing I feel like doing today is going to do the food shop. :( I'll be 8 weeks on Monday, so I'm consoling myself with the fact that I'll hopefully have only another 4 weeks of sickness to go,

SM, I feel for you. I was sick pretty much every day until 22 weeks, usually 2-4 times a day, and its horrid. I got the burst blood vessels a few times from it too- usually when i had multiple retches when my tummy was already empty or all that was left was dryish food and no liquid.

The best advice i can give, wont stop you being sick, but makes it easier and less violent- always take a bottle of water to the loo, so if you empty your tummy being sick, if you drink water, if you retch again, it will come up easier and not get stuck in your throat/give you spasms.

Congratulations Taadaa and welcome to the thread - can you not ask to see a different doctor if you don't get on with your one?

Thanks for the tips kira - gone back to just feeling sick at the moment (luckily I'm not actually sick every day, so I'm lucky in that respect), and scared every time I burp in case. :( I'm scared to eat in case it makes me sick, and scared not to eat as I know that this can make you sick. I think the mistake I made on Saturday was going to sleep for a few hours in the afternoon before dinner, and I left my tummy empty too long. I was feeling sick before I ate, and when I ate I knew it was a mistake. Cleaning my teeth is what started it off.

  • Somebody please tell me this isn’t just me (I’m 6weeks and 4 days) – though actually really only around 5 weeks – and my tummy has literally popped out over night. I have no idea how I am going to keep this hidden at work for another 5/6 weeks. I am usually a size 10, and yesterday my bump (!!!) looked really prominent. Even my usually very unobservant dad said to me, “why are you so big already!?!” and “you’re going to struggle to keep that hidden for the next few weeks” I look so big already L Is anyone else the same?
