I told my employers before the 12 week scan last time however this time as I am on maternity leave I will leave it until I legally have to. It gives me time to work out what I want to do without lots of questions.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

My boss knows but that's because I needed to have a risk assessment and my role amended as I can't do any lifting as I can't take my tablets for my back as they can harm the baby.
I still dont know if I'm gOing to ask for an early scan or not. As my 12 week one will be in 4-5 weeks anyway and even though it would put my mind at ease especially after last time I know it won't change things for me. Does that make sense?
My boobs are huge and sore and I feel nauseous but haven't been sick. I've had diawoowoo but that's probably not helped by the fact I love grapes at the minute and am eating loads of them lol.
6 + 4 ( 7 + 2 if you as the mw lol )You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I don't think I will tell them until after 12 weeks. I don't do much heavy lifting at all and any that I might have to do I can probably get around it quite easily.
My boss will be lovely about it, but I know she is kind of anti children so not sure what she will secretly think!

Walby, I told my manager at 8 weeks. Partly because I had been feeling sick at work and wanted to be able to go home sick if necessary without too many questions and partly because I knew I was entitled to paid time off for my booking-in appointment that week. I've also told a few close colleagues. I was glad I did in the end because they've all been great and I keep being reminded to take time off if and when I feel I need it (I haven't yet, but it's nice to know they won't be funny about it if I do). My scan is on the 27th when I will be exactly 12 weeks by the doc's dates (not quite 12 weeks by mine) and if everything is okay I'll then tell the rest of the world. I'm excited about my pregnancy and want everyone to know about it!0

Thanks for your replies ladies. I get on well with my line manager and supervisor as we are a small close-knit department (us three full-time and two part-time). I suppose I was trying to weigh up giving them enough time to recruit someone for my mat leave (they would have to hand in their notice by the end of may for 1st Sept start) and feeling like I am telling people too early on. I think I will tell my line manager and supervisor on Monday though - I might need them to cover for me should I need to run out on a class to be sick (fingers crossed I remain morning sickness free though!). I suppose I will have to tell the head pretty soon as well!
Definately waiting until 12 weeks to let it be general knowledge though!

I told my supply agency fairly early on (6 weeks) as I was feeling really sick too walby, and was in the same situation as you - also wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be exposed to any bugs that could cause problems, as the day I found out I was pregnant, I taught a class with slapped cheek syndrome (luckily I've since found out I'm immune to it, but it worried me at the time). Now the agency know, the schools are all informed before I go, and have to do a risk assessment for me.
Personal life - told Mum, Dad, sister, Nana very early on (first couple of days of finding out) as I wanted their support should anything happen to the pregnancy. Also have told some friends who live in Canada at 6 weeks. Still not told MIL, as she'll tell BIL and half the village, so we're waiting til 12 weeks to tell her and all of our other friends.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

I've told my best friend (who happens to work in the same department as me) and nobody else in real life aside from DH of course. We are waiting for the scan...although DH has told his boss because he had to take some time off to look after me when I was really ill a few weeks ago.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
