  • Would appreciate some advice all: my wife woke up and said she didn't sleep well, that she had been up all night worrying. I asked her why and she said that she no longer feels that her breasts are sore (which she knows might come and go) and that they also feel normal to the touch I.e. No longer dense/heavy/full. Those symptoms and hunger were the only pregnancy symptoms she was getting - so she is understandably concerned. She is going to phone the midwife. Hope all is ok.

update: not been able to get hold of midwife (only available between 9 and 10am) will have to worry and wait till tomorrow now.

How many weeks pregnant is your wife mrP? She could try calling your local early pregnancy unit for some reassurance (probably at your local hospital).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Mr P,

Symptoms do come and go and aren't necessarily something to worry about. But do ring the hospital or GP. On your notes you should have the number for community midwives in your area. Mine is an answer phone but they do get back. Give them a ring for reassurance if nothing else.

I've found that my symptoms come and go - my boobs aren't tender today, but they were last night. It is quite possible for the symptoms to be settling down a bit by 9 weeks anyway, as the amount of progesterone (mainly responsible for early pregnancy symptoms), starts to level out. This is why most people stop having morning sickness (if they suffered from this) by around week 12.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Back from the hospital and there is a gummy bear with a little heart beat. They have put be back a week which was expected and I will be scanned every 4 weeks and as many times as I want around the 31 week mark and if I have any worries they said I can come in at any time. They have been really good so far.

Gummy bear did look a little lonesome in there but that is to be expected. Was hoping that once I saw it I would feel more relaxed but if anything I am more tense, did burst into tears in the room too.

Pleased your gummy bear is ok kitten - it must have been an emotional time for you, especially having been scanned for your boys in the same room. Big hugs for you. xxx

I think if it was just a reduction in tenderness it would not be worrying - as I would class this as a "symptom". However, a change in the physical feel of them is more of a "sign" than a symptom - and not something I would expect.

Thank you SM, I couldn't look at the screen until he said that there was a baby and a heartbeat. The same screen my boys were scanned every two weeks and the one I found out they had died on.

Emotional day but at least this one has a good ending so far.

If you are both worried, I would call the early pregancy unit or your GP. Hope they manage to get to the bottom of it. Fingers crossed for you both MrP.
