  • jj we have same edd!!

I'll be posting and running as hubby is bored that my status is getting so many more responses than his on facebook!

Baby was there in one piece (and some small ovarian cysts, oops!) and very wriggly, a dancer like me :) It waved at us for a picture and I was put forward to 12 weeks exactly - 5.3 cm. I am so so relieved, it's an amazing feeling. And yes I did cry once she turned the screen around. Saw the heartbeat but didn't hear it, is that normal?!

Still can't believe it and worry that telling facebook will jinx it but we saw our baby :D

Well I had my appt with the doctor on Monday FINALLY!!! She just basically took blood pressure and filled out a sheet that had my dates on (last period etc). Then said she'd refer me to the midwife...end off. I'm 8+3 I think currently (although doc said I was 9...not sure if they are measuring it the same way as me).

Tiredness is killing me at the minute, but I'm holding the sickness at bay at the minute. Phew. Got to admit though - my current diet leaves rather A LOT to be desired. I just can't stomach anything unless I get a sudden craving. And all my cravings appear to be for chips, fish fingers etc.

Well done for all the happy scan news people. x

Totally. You can't hear heartbeats with a sonogram. Your midwife will listen to the heartbeat with a doppler at your routine 16 week scan (and at subsequent appts). It's a lovely moment :)

    Morning all,

Student_Mrs congrats on your scan. I can't wait to have mine.

Candycane my midwife phoned the hospital during my booking in appointment and booked my scan for me there and then.

I had my flu jab on Tuesday and am kind of wishing I hadn't bothered now. I appear to have had a reaction to the jab and now have a huge swollen red area on the top of my arm that's boiling hot and really itchy. It's bigger today than it was yesterday but I'm going to leave it a bit longer to see if it settles down. If the red area continues to spread I think I'll have to visit the walk in clinic in the morning and get it looked at. I should have known really - I've had a reaction to every jab I've ever had and have armfuls of scars from TB, rubella etc when I was younger.
  • Eleyn, I wouldn't worry too much - our office was given flu jabs in November last year and a lot of people had reactions like that; it's unlikely to be due to pregnancy (but of course always get it checked out if you're worried!).

Student_Mrs, congratualtions on your scan! You get to go on the big girls' thread now - I need someone I know to pave the way, as it's my scan in less than a week now :S

I had my booking in appointment this morning, which took ages but was fine (although they weighed me which is never fun). Only down side was that they had problems taking blood - not unusual for me - so I feel a bit like a pin cushion :(

Argh, I'm 11+4 now - it's gone so quickly! I'm still a bit worried about the scan next week, but we just have to wait and see. My symptoms have got to the point where they're coming and going but I'm feeling a lot better now, although I was almost sick at work yesterday! Tiredness is still a killer.

I hope everyone else is going ok :)
