  • Oh that's really great news Emsbet, huzzah!

We had quite a chilled out weekend but I still didn't get enough sleep. Coming in to work today was grim, and to add insult to injury I was sick as soon as I got here :( Boo. This is not fun - but at least I managed, by the skin of my teeth, not to throw up in the street!
  • Yay, great news Emsbet, really chuffed for you.

Sa-ra-ra hope the sickness improves, not nice :(

Thanks emsbet. Think she is well enough to go to nursery tomorrow. Had a lovely day in bed with her and DVDs and nap and she away to bed now so fingers crossed :). Can't wait. So nervous. More for my other half than me cos it's his first. And with all the recent bad news on here I'm extra anxious :s it's at 1.30 so hopefully I be able to report good news to you tomorrow aftermoon

  • Morning,

First time on this board - so maybe I should introduce myself?! I'm Hayley, 23 years old, and ound out last Monday I am pregnant (took three tests - as totally unplanned).
I have been to see the sister as an emergency doctors appointment (on the Tuesday night) and she confirmed, that I am pregnant. She advised me to take folic acid tablets, and then informed me she will book me in with the midwife, and book me in for a scan at a local hospital. I have heard nothing since? Is this normal?
I did not know when my last period was, as I am a nightmare with the pill, and constantly mucked it around (taking, then not), so I do not know when my due date is. I should be having a due date scan, and some blood tests soon ... I was just wondering how long it tends to take for information to come through, like hospital appointments etc.
This is my first, and I am really excited, but scared at the same time (financial situation, living with family etc).
What will the midwife appointment entail also? I have absolutely no clue, and have not told anyone, other than my parents that I am pregnant, so cannot ask anyone for any info.

    Congratulations to everyone :)

Any advice would be fantastic :D

Hi Hayley, you usually get your booking appointment at about 8-10 weeks then your scan somewhere around 12 weeks. You'll have bloods done at your booking appointment, Blood pressure, weight and urine checked and then loads of filling in forms, I think its usually about an hour long appointment!! The time taken to inform you of the appointments seems to differ alot but I was phoned with my midwife appointment then she told me when my scan was. Other than that they leave you to get on with it unless you have any problems!
