  • Hi Everyone

Just edging my way over here from the ttc thread.

I am 5 weeks pregnant and up until today have been pretty symptom free apart from being tired. Today has been a different story though I felt sick from the time I got up until about 1/2 hour ago when I finally managed to eat something. Still shouldn't complain it will be worth it.

I have my first appointment with the midwife on Wednesday next week, I'm lucky as her clinics are quiet at them moment so she managed to fit me in earlier than normal.

In my experience, eating really really does help, and if you can force something down it makes a big difference. It may be helpful if you keep something by the bed so when you wake up you can eat something - before the sickness kicks in. Also, stay hydrated cos that can make it worse.

    I'm headachy today :(
  • I've known women who had lots of sickness and sadly still suffered a loss.

It really isn't an indicator of anything and it's wrong when people say it is as it just stresses you out even more!

Well with my ongoing saga, I have lots of diawoowoo today! :( Chesty cough is still there as well. :( But I still have VERY tender boobs, so I'm still pretty happy with that....sounds like an odd thing to say but you ladies know what I mean.

I'm 5+4 today so kittycat we are about the same...I'm very jealous though. I should of had my first appointment next Tuesday - but they called me last night to rearrange it for the week after. I know that makes no difference...but it does to me! **stamps feet**

  • Im exactly the same too emsbet & kitten_pie, no symptoms apart from a second or two of nausea - even my boobs arent sore this time round.

I havent even told my OH yet, it doesnt quite feel real but Im not sure what im waiting for !

you must be dying to tell OH.
i tested 3 days before my period was due and it was a weak line although positive, struggled but kept it quiet for another few days then tested one sunday morning and it was definately positive, so told OH :) i feel happy to get through each day and still be pregnant, nearly to my 12 weeks mark.

i saw my midwife at just under 7 weeks and it felt like it was too early, like i didnt deserve to see someone so early, but i think its useful, you know to check you are avoiding certain foods, taking supplements etc and of course to get requests in for your bloods and scans.

  • Congratulations to all those who have recently found out they are pregnant.

mishkanorman - How have you managed to keep quite, had to tell my OH as soon as I was late and the excitement grew until we did the test.

Laura - what a fab way to tell the parents, we have not mentioned the pregnancy to anyone but want to tell just our parents once we have had the 12 week scan..... now wondering if i should be more inventive that just telling them!

    Evening ladies,

I finally got my BFP this morning, so thought I ought to come over and introduce myself. I'm 28 and married to Moon (his nickname - obviously not his real name), and we'd been trying for our first baby for 11 months. I've only done a poundland test so far - I'm going to wait for a week to do the CB test I have, so that I can see how many weeks I am, and I've still got to go to the doctor. I've told a couple of people IRL (one friend and the person I babysit for who is a doctor, as I wanted to ask her a question relating to my pregnancy). I'm feeling excited and also quite nervous.
