I'm the same, I've been telling myself not to get attached, but I think your counsellor might be right :cool: The only think I've found this time is a sense of calm seems to have come over me (most of the time anyway:o). I think the main thing I've taken from my last two pregnancies is that worrying doesn't change the outcome so it's pointless. There are still times when I panic and worry what will happen but I find that is more if I think too far ahead. Taking one day at a time seems to really help.

I'm still lacking in symptoms too really except tiredness and the very occasional nausea but I'm not thinking about it as its still early days and I didn't really get any until after six weeks last time.

Im exactly the same too emsbet & kitten_pie, no symptoms apart from a second or two of nausea - even my boobs arent sore this time round.


I havent even told my OH yet, it doesnt quite feel real but Im not sure what im waiting for !

Was sick twice yesterday and feel like vomming right now. Just want to get my scan done next week and for them to tell me everything's okay then I won't mind about the sickness, promise!

Hey guys - just flying in to reassure you that a lack of symptoms does not indicate anything is wrong at all.

With my first pregnancy I had no symptoms at all. I mc'd at 9 weeks.
With my 2nd pregnancy I had no symptoms at all. In fact I couldn't even feel my baby kicking at post 28 weeks and took myself off to be monitored at the hospital even though I had heard his heartbeat via doppler at every ante-natal check up. It turned out I had an anterior placenta which meant he was kicking against that and it was cushioning it so I didn't feel him till I was way past 30 weeks gone.
I used to worry myself silly as I had lost my first symptomless pregnancy, and was convinced it would happen again.

My son was born absolutely perfect

I know I'll probably be anxious when (if) we conceive no 2, but will try and rest assured that every pregnancy is different.

Excellent post Metranil Vavin. When I was on this thread, people would post things about how strong symptoms = a strong pregnancy, and it really made me feel like poo as I had none and I'd be constantly willing my body to at least make me sick or something so I knew everything was okay.

I got my scan date through the post yesterday which was exciting - I'm also seeing the MW on the 9th Feb.

I feel like I'm learning how to deal with the nausea a bit better, which is good, it makes life a little more bearable! I'm absolutely exhausted at the moment, and I've had lots of evening meetings over the past couple of weeks (all planned before I found out!) which has made it worse.

Counting down to that 12 week barrier to (hopefully) start feeling a bit more normal again...

When I went to see the doctor last week she had a nurse in with her and they were asking me how I was feeling. I said a little sick and they both said, "That's good, nice strong hormones"!!!! It's a good job I know that's not true because I've only had a bit of nausea since then.

You can guarantee that if I'd have said I had no symptoms and was worried they would have said "It's still early and you might be one of the lucky ones with no symptoms"

I read somewhere a while ago that the strong sickness = strong pregnancy line was made up to make women who get bad MS feel better but they've stopped using it because obviously there are lots of women that don't have it and they then get worried. Don't know how true that is.

I did mine on Monday and it went from 2-3 to 3+. You're right it does make you feel better, although waiting for the numbers to flash up is nerve wracking!
