Not really though, as people can get a BFP at 10dpo, it's not really common, but it is possible.
Rups - BFP - Big fat positive on a pregnancy test
But when they date it don't they use the days before you ovulated aswell? It always confused me!!DS1 born June 2000

I'm confused now. I mean you can know your pregnant, 10 days post ovulation, so at that moment in time no matter when your last period was, you'd be about 10 days pregnant, maybe not even, but on going to the doctors, they'd date you from your LMP.
So even the doctor has told Rups she was 5 weeks, she only uses LMP for dates, nothing else, so noone is actually pregnant at there LMP date.
For example I know my baby was conceived the 9th of May, but my last period before that was the 18th of April, when I went to the doctor she tried to tell me I was 7 weeks pregnant, when I knew it was only 5 weeks since conception? Make sense? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
yeah sort of makes sense. lol at first i got so confused reading about the ovulation stuff but it def makes sense. i really hope it is that for me, as i am actually 90% sure that i cant be preg from day of last period! no way! i know that we prob conceived on around the 23rd of novemb or later, so would prob take that date. shame i didnt write these things down as we werent trying.
i shall for next time. i hope little bubs is just growing a bit late thats all rather than completely stopping. x

No it's strange isn't it Gilly. I think it's just a way for them to date it based on a typical 28 day cycle as a lot of people aren't certain when they ovulated or indeed conception took place. I know mine was 26th July and they have dated my pregnancy from the 10th July as that was the start of my last period.DS1 born June 2000

Rups - it really isn't ever an exact science and dates can be wrong. You don't sound desperate at all, it's just positive thinking, and there's nothing wrong in that. I would just speak to your midwife and let her go through it all with you when you have your appointment.

I think we all can go on and on. It's better to chat though than get all wound up in your own head.
I got a lot of headaches during the first trimester and I know a lot of others have. Probably those pesky hormones...lolDS1 born June 2000
