    Hi everyone,

Just thought I would pop on to introduce myself. I am 6 and a bit weeks pregnant with #2, some of you may have seen me on the TTC thread.

Feeling very different to last time (very very tired-which is the same, but feeling like I have a really bad hangover and needing to eat stodge) as last time no sickness at all.

Waiting to tell the family on XMas Ever, have been teaching DD to point to my belly and say 'baby', which I thought would be cute, plus I couldn't get away with not drinking throughout the whole of the festive period (although MIL, SIL and Sis all guessed already!)!

Have informed GP, just waiting for booking in appt. When is it usually? I know this sounds a bit daft considering I already have DD but found out at GP last time when 9 weeks and everything seemed to happen quite quickly after then so not sure of time scales.

Hope everyone is OK and all feeling well!

  • Hello all - can I join please? I got my BFP last Thursday and now estimate to be 6+5. I was a bit astonished to get pregnant as I was about to be put on Metformin for PCOS, so I'm thrilled but trying not to get too excited before the 12 week scan as unfortunately we have a strong family history of PCOS and early miscarriage (although I know everyone is different, so trying not to dwell on it.)

Can I just ask if anyone else has a lack of symptoms? I haven't had many symptoms from the start, just feeling tired, light headed and bloated, but nothing very severe. I kind of wish I had more symptoms so I could reassure myself that everything's still 'working' in there!

morning all.. welcome to the new people gemma and redredrose.. :) hope everyone is doing well today?

jedi, i went to the gp and am still waiting for the letter from the midwife, or the letter stating when i see the midwife? its a waiting game at the mo. :( i agree with you about waiting till the 12 week scan and then asking your mum.

hey redredrose i kind ofk now what you mean, but i wouldrather not have the morning sickness, which i have still not got. touchwood.lol i just feel the tiredness like mad. i feel i want to sleep and sleep or just sit and do nothing. since ihave a cold my appetite is weird anyway. i feel hungry at the right times, or sometimes i am way too ravenous and want to eat and eat.. i think i am nearly 6 weeks now. i felt a bit gaggy yesterday i chewed a strong menthol chewgum and that seemed to help. :) and i tend to feel period type cramps which i heard are normal as the belly is stretching.

I have felt a sharp-ish pain on my right side which lasts a few seconds. that used to worry me but i think thats normal too. am scared of the sickness though and hope it stays away.

Hi rups, I'm the same age as you and am about 50% grey. I waited until I had my first scan before I dyed my hair and then dyed once again at 20ish weeks after my second scan. A lot of conflicting info on the net but Ive read lots of ladies continue dying their hair with no probs so I have continued to colour my hair and my bubs is fine! Just make sure you do a skin test before you dye just to make sure if you do decide to dye. Hth

Hiya hon... The other thing to bear in mind with hair colour, is that the hormones in your body will have changed, which means you may not get the same result that you used to get. Even if you have used the same make/hairdresser before, you need a new patch test, in case you react, or the colour comes out differently.

The advise i read was that it is best to use a colouring method that doesnt touch your scalp, i.e applied highlights/lowlights, rather than a massage in, all over colour. Also, maybe take a tissue in with you, with a nice pregnancy safe essential oil on to sniff, as the dye smell can affect you more than usual, esp in early pregnancy..
