thought it would be more appropriate if i posted on this thread as have been on the MSE pregnancy 23 thread but am very early on in pregnancy.
i am 30, married last year and started trying for a baby 5 months ago, was very happy to discover i was pregnant a few weeks ago.
6 + 1 today - my first midwife appt is this friday
had slight nausea from the start with last week being a bit worse, had really crappy day on friday, sat and sun but much better day today. i am so worried about being sick off work and people guessing i am pregnant.........keeping nausea at bay by eating often, like all the time lol drinking ginger tea and eating bland food when feeling sicky.
how is everyone else coping?
keeping a secret for 3 months is going to be a nightmare!

congrats svjenni, rups and jediquigley!
Not as much bleeding today (infact very much like the last day of period) and no pain what-so-ever, so maybe me just over reacting to the blood/waves of pain.
I'm booked for emergency scan tomorrow 12.30pm.
WW2BR - Coaching fully taken in and if all is actually ok tomorrow, I will try harder next week.....:DBeing happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, you've just decided to see beyond the imperfection.....0 -
Thanks everyone and welcome jediquigley, and congrats too!
I am going for my first GP appointment tomorrow morning so let's see what they say.Apart from that my tummy just feels funny (like small - medium period cramps) and i just feel like i could sleep for months and months. Doesnt help that travelling by bus, train and tube, just tires me out and i never get a seat.
Hope today passes quick!

All good here:j
This morning I had a visit to the early pregnancy centre at the local hospital due to bleeding since Saturday night. They asked me to do a pregnancy test - why didn't I think of that myself? Result was positive, so they sent me for a scan. There was a bean (13mm) but no heartbeat visible so they did a vaginal ultrasound (not as bad as it sounds) and they found the tiniest of heart beats. I am 7-8 weeks and bean is OK.
There is no reason given for the bleeding. I am in shock as I thought I was miscarrying and had spent the last couple of days preparing myself for that news. I am pleased that OH has seen the scan and the heartbeat. WOW!
Thanks for all help here. For those with bleeding, it really is quite common and doesn't always mean sad news. Of the five women at the hospital EPAC this morning, four of us walked out with confirmation that the fetus is still OK. My heart goes out to the poor couple who left with sad news.
Good luck to us all.0 -

yay hiphouse.. good news.:)
so can someone please tell me what the next step is please? i did the test at home, and it was positive, so tomorrow i see the gp. what happens next? when is the first scan to see the bean is ok? lol. its so weird. when you hear people talk about it and worry for the first 12 weeks! eek!
i read here that those period type cramps are the belly strecthing getting ready for the bean, but did anyone get a few sharp pains too? i got one or two last week and then today before i went to yoga i felt it again..its calm now and was during the class.. i am finding myself talking to the little thing.. is that weird?? *embarrassed*Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

All areas are different but ill tell you my experience. I saw the midwife about 7 weeks and she just gave me lots of reading material and arranged my booking appointment. I had this about 9 weeks and then she arranged for my first scan which was around 12 weeks.
As far as pains are concerned they are very common and is probably just your little bean burrowing in it's new home nicely.
Hope that helpsDS1 born June 2000

The sharp pain sometimes scares me and its normally on the right side.. i think i might come and do all your heads in with silly questions! still feel so surreal! hope for everyone those 12 weeks pass by fast and we are all in the safe zone! positive thoughts.
its the yoga i have just done.
thats another issue for me to sort, as i go to the gym. need to find out what can do and what cant..its pretty common sense, but in terms of intensity. me and hubby do kung fu and that will def be toned down for me anyway. :0)
