Lovely news Rebekah, popping in from 12-24 to say I had the exact same experience at 7 weeks and then again a few weeks later and assume now both were breakthrough/when I would have been due on, congratulations and enjoy it! x

well popping in for my weekly catch up and I've not had the greatest day.
I woke this morning sweating really badly, thought I would go to the loo (and as a Sunday, go back to bed as you do) but found brown 'discharge' just like I was starting my period. Went back to bed but I'm was never now gonna go back to sleep was I! I called out of hours Doc, saw them at 10.30am who said all feels OK, Doc tried to make an emergency scan appointment but can only do that via GP and Mon-Fri as unit isn't open at all at the weekend. So I have to call the Docs in the morning to get the referal to see if everything is really ok.
Having bad pains, not like period cramps (not that I every suffered much with this prob), now all day and mainly to the RHS and right in the middle and now the blood is much fresher.
    This cannot be 'spotting' surely?

Rebekah - so glad all is well with you
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect, you've just decided to see beyond the imperfection.....
  • If the pain is really bad it might be worth a trip to casualty. If nothing else it may put your mind at rest. Hope all is ok

Also if you go to A&E this evening they might be able to get you booked in for a scan earlier than if you wait to see yourGP.

I'm going to disagree with the last two posters, but only because miscarrying in A and E is a horrible horrible thing to have to go through, and usually the staff are too busy to give you any attention at all. Without a scan they can't tell you whether you are definitely losing the baby or not, so you won't get any more information on what is happening just by being there. The miscarriage forum on Baby and Bump is chock full of really shocking stories from women who have done this, and been seriously traumatised as a result. If this is what is happening, then nothing can prevent it I'm afraid, and it will be less frightening and traumatic in the comfort of your own home. The exception is if you experience really bad pain, or soak a pad in less than an hour, when you may need medical attention urgently.

I've never heard of anyone getting a scan at A and E in these circumstances. I don't think they usually have that equipment in the A and E department. All they usually do is refer you to EPAU and if its shut until tomorrow morning, then they can't get you in any faster than your own GP phoning first thing in the morning.

I'm really sorry you are going through this Bikerchick. It sounds very similar to what happened to me a few months ago. I managed it by staying in bed, interspersed with warm baths and a hot water bottle, and although unpleasant, the pain never got too bad.

I hope you get good news in the morning though. Not all bleeding is disastrous but obviously it should always be checked out.
