Just wanted to add my experience. I had REALLY bad pain and some light bleeding at about 6 and a half weeks, had a scan which showed everything was fine and was told the pain etc. was probably from implantation....yes it can and does happen as late as that apparently!!! Anyway, i'm now 17 weeks so a good example that pain and bleeding early on is not always a bad sign. Fingers crossed for those of you with worries at present xx0

My theory with all this pregnancy lark is to just wait for each day to pass, and every day without pain/bleeding is a good day. And hopefully we'll hit 9 months... If we do, great... if we don't, well, we'll have to try again. A scan a week won't help either way.
One of the things the recurrent miscarriage consultant told me when we first went to see her was that they had research that showed that often just the extra monitoring and reassurance scans could be enough to tip the difference into a successful outcome. Certainly I know this time round we had weekly scans from her from weeks 5-11 and it made a huge difference in terms of stress and sanity levels if nowt else (and possibly the outcome to be honest - although with that you never know 100%)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

LMP was 17th Sept, ov'ed on 10th Oct according to OPKs, FF and CM. I usually have a 10 day LP so expected AF on 21st Oct (which would have put me on a 33 day cycle, my usual is 32-35) and tested on 22nd Oct at 12DPO. Got an extremely faint TLP on IC, but did a digi which said 1-2 weeks. I then did another digi a week later and got 2-3 weeks, and another a week later and got 3+, that was on the 5th Nov. If I was dating by LMP I would be 8+5 now, so I've been basing it on ov date and a 'perfect' cycle to come up with a reasonable number. There could be 1 or 2 days wiggle room if I ov'd a day later than I thought and it took up to a day to fertilise. Two schools of thought. a) too many scans are not always good, extra stress and anxiety of going to the hospital so often, plus it stresses the baby if you are stressed too... and b) what will a scan show? I absolutely understand your point and of course these things are always very personal decisions and most often the less interference the better. For me, I know I will be more stressed not knowing what's happening than I will be if I have another scan. My booking-in appt isn't until the 8th Dec, and I won't have an NHS scan for at least another 2-3 weeks after that, plus with Christmas in the way, it'll probably end up being in January before they do a dating/nuchal(sp?) test etc and I'll get to see if everything is progressing as it should. Also, this is my first pregnancy, so I'm just more nervous, and not exactly sure when to expect scans and things. Plus obviously the increased risk of MC from the PCOS is making me doubly nervous.
I'd like to be able to tell my family at Christmas that we're expecting, but I really don't want to tell everyone only to discover that the beanie didn't make it. So, if I have a scan in a couple of weeks it will reassure me and my DH, and if anything has gone wrong I'll have at least a couple of weeks to ease the pain before having to act suitably at Christmas with the rest of my family, most of whom don't know yet. Thanks, you too, I'm more worried about your scenario than I am about ours, let's hope that your dates are wrong and that implantation was a few days late...
All we can really do is hope, right?Wishing you and your OH a happy and healthy beanie and mummy :T
Thanks skintchick and lisa26 as well.

Morning All. I recieved my BFP over the weekend and am now 4+2. I don't really feel pregnant at all! I don't think I have morning sickness per say but I am finding it very hard to eat meals at the moment. I am always hungry but when I try to eat I feel unsettled after and a tad queasy. My goal is the little and often mantra but really getting fed up of eating now!Not been to gp yet will make an appointment next week.0

Hi Rebekah, congratulations. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and have had terrible morning sickness. Hopefully you won't get it! I'm still having trouble eating: the thought/smell of food and even going in the fridge makes me want to hurl, but if I don't eat, I wretch so much it's unreal.
If you do get it, I've found that forcing myself to eat little but often helps.0 -

Well, My DW's LMP was Sept 26th, a whole 9 days later than you, but our IVF cycle meant that collection/induced OV was on October 10th, the exact same date as you, how freaky...
We got the TLP/BFP on 24/26 October, so we are roughly the same times. My guess is that it is not impossible we'll have the same due date, if both pregnancies go ok... and yes, I appreciate that there are complications at the moment with both so who knows...Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0
