Wow dizzi, that is fab news!! So glad everything was ok for you.
I am really fed up today. My OH had a right go at me. I said I was feeling worried about labour because of my pelvis and he basically said loads of people have babies, you aren't special, shut up and that giving birth "isn't a big deal"
I said actually it is a big deal to me to be worried and in pain for 24/48 hours and then maybe have to have a c-section due to pelvis.
Well according to him most women have babies really quickly. It then came out his ex had to be induced so she gave birth in 5 hrs (start to finish)
How annoying to be told it is not a big deal and be compared to his ex. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr[STRIKE]Debt 2010 £74,000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Debt 2012 £42,000[/STRIKE] Debt Jan 2013 £38558 Baby boy born 19/05/20120 -

Thankyou skintchick. Sending you lots of hugs, hope that pain and bleeding stops soon.
I phoned the epu and they said that it was normal to be bleeding and that it can last up to two weeks. They said if it gets worse to ring back. Feel better about it.
Thankyou Gin.
Congrats dizziblonde.
Welcome bobblehat. Hope your appointment goes well.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I hope skintchick and moneysaver12 pass through the bleeding stage soon.
skintchick, I've only glanced through this thread, but you sound incredibly brave and strong, wishing better things for you.
ginvzt Thanks, I know what you mean, and all the reassurance in the world can't change how you feel, Good luck.
dizziblonde Excellent news, happy trails :0)
So my biopsy didn't yield the results they wanted, apparently I have the awkward type of Thyroid lump. They need to operate to whip it out and find out if it's malignant or not, but they can't operate in my first trimester because of the threat of miscarriage, it's a 6-8 weeks waiting list anyway so that will put me in my second trimester (hopefully), but I am nervous about having an op when pregnant. It's a 2-3 week recovery too, and I'll look like Frankenstein monster for a bit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a happy outcome. Hi hon.. i know how you feel. I have had a similar problem. Two actual products that may help, i have a pair of black mat trousers from next, which go up to 22L, but are soft and stretchy, so would go bigger to a 24. I practically live in them at the mo with my 33 week belly!
The item number is 982-130-G47
The other thing that might help for a while is buying a belly belt set, which basically lets you carry on wearing your normal button/zip front trousers/skirts for longer. I stayed in my usual ones til about 20 weeks.

The other thing i would say, is that you can try buying soft stretchy trousers which are non maternity but in higher sizes than your usual. I've been wearing some bigger non mat leggings and tracksuit bottoms, and my winter coat is a tesco job, 2 sizes up from my normal to go over my baby belly..
Forgot I had a Next giftcard on the mantlepiece from a birthday present 6 months ago (my habit of forgetting about gift cards sometimes has its advantages) so have taken a shot at these since I basically only have to pay for delivery - hopefully they work!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Well well well.... an update from our side of the world...
We went to our GP this morning, to get a referral to the EPAU at hospital. They did the basic checks, confirmed dates, and told us to go away, and wait for a letter in the post for the booking appointment. We're off to Paris for a week next week (by train, not flying), so wanted a scan to reassure us that all is well before we go, but the GP pretty much refused (said it was not necessary, that if there's no pain etc, then there's no point).
My OH then got to work after the GP, and within 10 minutes, called me up to tell me she was on the way to the hospital, with mild cramping and a huge discharge - more clear liquid than blood, but some blood nevertheless. After 2 hours of panic, crying, and nervous waiting, she got the scan she wanted. All clear, all is well, 11mm CRL, good heartbeat, and no sign of any blood or problems with the little one (which we've affectionately named Alien, since it'll emerge from her stomach at some point)!
I guess that the two questions I'd like to ask are... a) has this happened to anyone else? and b) could this be due to OHSS following the IVF treatment, especially since yesterday would have been ovulation day in her cycle. And yes, today is 7+2.
Any ideas/thoughts/comments? Thanks!

Hi whowantstobrich,
I just wanted to say, I'm 7+2 as well today, recent graduate from the TTC threadWe had a bit of a scare on Monday, I had a bright red bleed with a few large clots and some cramping, although no pain. Went to the GP who told me I was probably miscarrying so had an emergency scan yesterday morning. Thankfully they found a heartbeat, but said that the embryo looked smaller than the dates I thought I was, more like 5 or 6 weeks, which isn't great news because I know exactly when I ovulated (OPKs, CM watching and temping mean I'm pretty darn sure when it was!) Anyway, they also said they could see a hematoma (bleeding and clotting) and to expect more bleeding, but that the embryo looked fine as it was higher up. Since then I've had another bright red bleed, with lots of brown spotting and some cramping and pain, but that's all stopped now and everything seems fine.
We're still a bit worried obviously, and I'll probably pay for a private scan in a week or two to check that the beanie has grown and is still there and OK, but I just wanted to chip in and say you're not alone, we're having the same scare at almost exactly the same time and we conceived naturally (although I do have a higher risk of MC due to PCOS).
Anyway, hope that reassures you a little, and I'm wishing you all the very best and lots of SBD.
Also, hi everyone elsemy first time posting on this thread. Still a bit nervous about everything so will mostly be lurking. Hugs to skintchick and moneysaver.

I can't answer those questions but if it's any reassurance, I do know that once you've seen the heartbeat on a scan then the odds of a miscarriage are roughly halved compared to the "average" pregnancy.
That's right. Once you've seen the heartbeat your risk of miscarriage goes down to about the same as it is at 12 weeks - around 2 per cent, unless the woman is over 35 in which case it's more like 4 per cent.
So usually it is a sign that all is going to be well, and I hope that's true for you. :A:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

The only thing that reassured me, if not my OH, was that there was no pain, slight cramping, and that our scans are showing normal growth pattern, the dates fortunately match up to what we expect. Just out of curiosity, what date do you have down for your OV? What date did you get the BFP? Maybe your cycle length was different/longer, and whilst the LMP date says 7+2, if you're on a 35-day cycle then you would actually be 6+2... IYSWIM....
And my OH has PCOS too, and has been on minimum 30-day cycles, but with the IVF cycle, collection was on day 14 so we're working as if it was a textbook 28 day cycle.
Two schools of thought. a) too many scans are not always good, extra stress and anxiety of going to the hospital so often, plus it stresses the baby if you are stressed too... and b) what will a scan show? My theory with all this pregnancy lark is to just wait for each day to pass, and every day without pain/bleeding is a good day. And hopefully we'll hit 9 months... If we do, great... if we don't, well, we'll have to try again. A scan a week won't help either way.Anyway, hope that reassures you a little, and I'm wishing you all the very best and lots of SBD.
Thanks, you too, I'm more worried about your scenario than I am about ours, let's hope that your dates are wrong and that implantation was a few days late...Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0
