I had a sharp pain on one side tonight as I was turning in bed... Is this normal?... It felt like I have to support my belly when in bed and sleeping on the side. I am only just overv5 weeks mark, and my belly is not back to what it was pre-treatment, I had to dig out my size 14 trousers to be comfortable.
Hi Ginvzt,
I am 6+6 and have had sharp pains similar to what you are describing above. I think it's to do with the uterus stretching - with me it only tends to last a few moments or until I move. I also seem to get it if I move too quickly.
I too am in big pants

I also used to get really bad sharp pains every night when I was around the same weeks as you. Am now 11+3 and they stopped by about week 7/8 I think - then the feeling sick kicked in!!!
Really pleased your scan went well SnoopyTweety, all being well I should see you over there this time next week.
Apart from the constant sick feeling and awful spots I still dont really feel pregnant, cant wait till I can see the little fella and know that everything is going as it should0 -

Am really hoping to avoid the feeling sick this time round - when pg with DS I was ill from 5 weeks right through to about 14 weeks
Nothing yet this time *touches wood* so am hoping it will stay that way0 -
Hi everyone, went to see the doctor today to get the ball rolling. I'm 6 weeks gone today. I have a few questions:
1) the test for Down's - has anyone had this before? I'm not planning on having this test. I didn't have a 12 week scan with my eldest daughter, so don't know what to expect at this.
2) the flu jab - again I wasn't going to have this either. What are your thoughts?
3) is anyone else acting mental?? My husband has the patience of a saint at the minute. I burst into tears and then immediately flew into a rage yesterday because the chicken wasn't cooked when it should've been. Feel like I'm going crazy.
4) I had TERRIBLE morning (and even all day) sickness in first trimester last time and it's starting again now. I was retching all morning. Any tips for lessening the effects of this?0 -
I don't know about Down's, I will think about it/talk to OH when we come to this.
I would rather have the flu jab, I think. I think there is less risk to pregnancy by having the jab than not.
No idea about the rest, as still no symptoms here.... (I am getting worried)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Don't worry about no symptoms, my mum flew through both her pregnancies. Said she'd never felt better, she looked amazing according to everyone, was never sick and was calmer than she's ever been accroding to my dad. Also, she only felt my sister move a handful of times, whereas I didn't stop moving about, so I think all women and every pregnancy is different.
I am 99.9% sure I don't want the test for Down's, not sure what my husband's take on it will be, but I don't see the point in it, so I will convince him that we don't want that particular test!!
The flu jab I'm really undecided on. My doctor really tried to get me to sign up, but I said no for now.0 -
Hi All
Just had my 12 week scan.
Saw the heartbeat it was amazing.

I dont think I will have the flu jab, I haven't been offered it yet but we dont have any other children and my OH has to have them and has already had his for thyis year so fingers crossed should all be ok. I just worry about vaccines while pregnant. I think we probably will have the downs test, I dont think for one second it would make a difference to us but if it was likely then at least we could prepare and read up.
I walked to Tesco at lunch and was a bit naughty - they had a 5 piece new born boy gift set reduced down to £1!!!! I couldn't resist it and if it turns out we have a girl then I could post it on to someone on here that is expecting a boy (we aren't going to find out the sex, I want a surprise after all that hard work!)0 -
Congratulations Glimmer, did you manage to get a clear picture?0

Well, I am just about to start commuting by train to work (office moving, car travel basically impossible to Manchester centre), so I don't really want to get the flu from the commuting...
I might have to go to Tesco now to check if I can find a bargain, although OH insisted that I don't start buying anything yet (apart from what we have already, as we had a few children and babies visiting us over the last couple of years - so, cotbed, mattress, Stokke highchair, bath towel, a few toys, car seat, but all for a bit bigger child ).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
