Hi All
Just had my booking in appt.
The midwife was lovely (as opposed to my doctor who was just rude), went through all the forms got all the booklets etc. So excited now. Had some concerns due to my age (38) but she was very re-assuring.
3 weeks tomorrow is my scan date
Off to the west county tomorrow for a few days very excited

Hi
Can I join? Not sure how pregnant I am, either nine and a half weeks or ten and a half weeks. Scan isn't until 7/10/11 so should have a better idea then. I'm really struggling at the moment as I'm being sick in excess of three times a day, everything smells bad including my husband and lovely baby, haven't been able to work for last three weeks. I had this the last time but I'm getting to the desperate stage as this has been going on for the last five weeks, guess I really just need to hear someone else is having as rough a time as me. On a more positive note apart from the vomiting, the rest of my first pregnancy was fine so hopefully it will be the same this time.
flutterby_lil I don't know what comments were made but I'm sure you meant them with the best of intentions and similiarly, I'm sure Nicki didn't mean to upset you.

Hi Penny
Sorry I have not had sickness as such, (about 5 times) just more feeling sick. My friend sounds like she was just as bad as you and went to the hospital and got some medication to take as she was housebound as it was so so bad. Have you spoken to your midwife? I am not sure if they just say it is part of pregnancy or in severe cases they can do something.0 -

Enjoy Glimmer. Glad your appt went well. Try not to worry about your age hon, it is just a number. Glad midwife was reassuring.0 -
Hi flutterby_lil
I've got medication from the GP but it says quite clearly on the pamphlet with it, not to be taken when pregnant! Called my GP and had a further discussion about the meds and was told basically no meds are guaranteed to be safe for an unborn baby and it was my decision if I took the meds or not. I've taken 2 pills in the last five weeks on days when I was sick six times (that's how I judge a bad day!) It's tricky as I know if I get too sick I'll get taken into hospital and given the same medicine there but I'm just trying to get to 12 weeks as there's less chance of damage to the baby then and if I'm still sick I'll take the meds then.
It's crap

Aww bless, I really feel for you. I have been really lucky. Don't want to rub it in or offend anyone else though!
I am not sure what my friend took, I just presumed it was something safe with her having gone to the doctors. Bet your scan can't come quick enough.0 -
Hello Penny! Welcome and congratulations.
sorry you've not been well with the sickness. I've been fortunate myself in that I've not been sick just nauseous. I do know that Sammie_03 who has now graduated to the 12-24 thread was really poorly with sickness and ended up in hospital a few times. She might be able to share her experience with you.

Thanks emsbet
It makes such a difference to hear someone else has got it/had it too. Every time a pregnancy book say something like 'occassionaly some women may vomit' when talking about morning sickness I want to hurl the book at the wall and shout liars! :rotfl:
This is definitely my last baby!getting out of debt 1753/83500 -

When my son's biological died I was very upset about some people posting about their children's dad, about having happy relationships etc, but I didn't ask people to stop posting.
Rest assured I won't go back. I feel quite hurt really but never mind.
I have PMd you. I am sorry to upset you and not meant in that way. I am just very protective of those on that thread!0
