Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies.
I've been awake since 7:30 but I'm still in bed
I got lots of next vouchers and some money so if all goes well on Monday I can splash out on some nice maternity clothesDH bought me some flowers and a big bag of chocolate goodies and biscuits to stuff my face with
Glad you had good news with the downs test Mishka.
We've decided not to have the test as if it came back high risk we wouldn't have any further tests as we would keep the baby anyway. Also if it did come back high risk I'd just worry for the next six months

Emsbet, I'm thinking the same as you re. the downs testing but DH wants to have it done I think. There's no way I would not have the baby just because it had downs so it doesn't make any difference, although I suppose it might be good to get your head around it before its born.
I'm saving some of the money I won the other week in the hope it'll be good news at the scan then I'll use some of it to treat myself to nice maternity clothes and some to buy bits for the baby.0 -

We felt the same way about the tests for our previous pregnancies but this time we couldnt ignore the detrimental impact on our family (it sounds horrible to say it in such a clinical way but we would have to seriously consider our options if we were given a 'bad' test result)
As the tests were non-invasive and wouldn't pose any risk to the baby we thought it sensible to have them.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
I had the downs test, purely for the same reason as Mishka. We have 3 other children to think about, and having a special needs child just wouldnt be fair on any of us. Hubby is ill too, so there is no way i could have coped with it all on my own. Luckily, we came back as 1 in 9400.
Happy Birthday Emsbethope you have a lovely day! xx

Happy Birthday emsbet
And thanks for all the congrats.
It seems an age before I see anyone (MW next Wednesday) and alot of the time I wonder did I imagine it all (esp as Clearblue digital goes off after 24 hours lol)
It also seems an age before I will feel able to tell people but that is alot of excuses and avoiding drink in between......
It also seems whatever position I am at, WTTC, TTC, 2WW, I find something to stress about!!! So just trying to chillDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

I hope no one thought my post was a dig at anyone who wanted to know for whatever reason, I was just explaining why we felt the right decision for us was to not have the tests.I am completely in favour of everyone's right to choose
Its great you both came back low risk, it must be a relief for you
Thanks for the happy birthday emmylou

Glad your scan went well Flutterby_lil, hope you can relax a bit more now. Are you furtehr along than you thought?
Well from my period dates i was due 23rd march - but had an early scan at 7 weeks due to bleeding which changed my due date to 1st April. Now after my 12 week scan it is 29th March, so yes and no in answer to your question lol.0 -
