Hey guys, I could use some advice. My little sis has just announced her wedding date just five days after my current EDD, and no-one in the family knows I'm pregnant yet. I feel terrible about it, they'd talked about that date for a while but I didn't get worried as they weren't sure they could get the venue etc etc, I really don't think she will take the news well as she wants me to be a bridesmaid and the date means a lot to the happy couple. I really don't want to have to tell the family yet, but it's played on my mind all day and we have always had an on/off relationship. It's still such early days for us, but the stress is getting to me :(

    Hi Amymo
Didn't want to read and run.
I think that you need to tell your little sis - I understand not wanting to tell people but if she starts booking and paying deposits it maybe harder for her to change this and it may strain your relationship even more. The stress will not be good for you or your baby.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Amymo I agree with GLimmer. You can tell your sis it's still a secret but you need to tell her because of her wedding, and see what she says.

    Welcome and congratulations to Nutella

Hamster_lady I am a serial tester too. Not as bad this time as previous, but I am looking forward to doing a digi again on Tuesday and seeing it say more weeks!!

    Hi Amymo,

Something similar happened to me this year - my sister called me to tell me she was due to give birth the day before my wedding this year! It was awful that she wasn't there as there is less than a year between us and we did everything together when we were younger, but we skyped that morning and at the reception a card she had written was read out by my bridesmaid that made everyone cry.

My neice was born two days after the wedding and everything worked out fine in the end! Don't get too stressed out or feel guilty. There will be two causes for family celebration - it's not as if you've deliberately avoided her wedding!!

Quick question for those beyond 6 weeks. I am 6 weeks +1 today. If I'm honest, i don't feel any different at all. A few poking and strectching sensations like those candlewax mentioned, the boobs aren't as sensitive as they were, but no nausea or extreme tiredness. A bit grumpy, but that might have more to do with the fact that I had to endure several football matches today on the TV. Might do another test tomorrow just to reassure myself!

Lisa I've had no more I think it's just one of those things I will get every few weeks. The midwife told me after my early scan I didn't need to go back to the hospital unless it was full red flow soaking a pad and passing 50p sized clots so I'm using that to keep me calm.

They said the same to me too so atleast its consistant advice!!

You should see the size of my tummy!!! If I hadn't had the early scan I'd be convinced it must be twins or triplets to be this size already!!! i won't be able to hide it much longer! My scan is 3 weeks tomorrow so after that I'll deffo have to confess.....although I'll be dying to anyway!!! I can't even pretend its bloating or something as its such an obvious shape!!!

    Good morning ladies :)
Yes Emsbet this is my first boy, i`m actually quite scared! Although everyone assures me that boys are alot easier than girls, so thats keeping me positive atm ;) Are you enjoying your mini holibobs? Hope the weather is better for you than it is in Shrewsbury :(
Happydays, i`m 17 weeks now, and have found i`m actually able to go the whole night now without getting up to wee :) yay! So hopefully it will get better for you!
Good luck to everyone with scans due. xxx

Hi gtothec. I'm 10+4 and not had hardly any symptoms. I've only had a bit of tiredness, more wind and bloatedness. My boob have only statred to feel mildly sore on and off but nothing I can complain about. Apart from that not really felt pregnant at all. I went for my scan last friday and had convinced myself i wasn't preggers but sure enough, beany was there waving its little arms about :)

Don't worry too much, everyone is different.

    Hope everyone is well :)
    Gops xx

ETA: Happydays: just wanted to say I read your other thread and honesty is the best poilcy. I hope things work out for you and your bean xx

  • Head hit the pillow at 11pm and was flat out until 3am and then up since. This constant need to wee is messing with my sanity. I feel like I'm living life through a haze at the moment cos I'm so tired.
I'm sure it will be worth it in the end though!!
Only 8 days to count down to my scan....yippee.
    Hope everyone else is well

  • Morning ladies, hope you all had a goos weekend.

After spending pretty much the whole of yesterday in bed I still feel shattered!

Has anyone found anything that helps with their spots? Mine are driving me crazy, if I couls lock myself in the house until they clear up I would :0( I am using Clinique Anti blemish solutions which was working well before I got pregnant but now I have loads of red horrible spots that just wont go away. Any advice on how to get rid of them or at least make them look a bit better would be appreciated. I will ask the midwife when I see her on Thursday too.

All the best to those of you meeting your little beanies today x
  • Scan later today but finding it hard to get excited, a close family members baby boy who was born a little fighter at only 28 weeks was rushed away to yorkhill hosp yesterday for an emergency op (quite far when you stay a few miles from John o Groats), still waiting to hear how he is so so my thoughts are with him and his family today :(
