Oh and I LOVE hot vimto, have it all day at work. I can't stomach cups of tea at the min, used to have about 4 a day but have about 2 a week now.

Hope everyone is well.
I've had a rough couple of days and me and OH have split up. Complete nightmare but just going to have to concentrate on me and baby.
Only 11 days to wait for my scan and I'm so excited. Something to look forward too.

My brown was just as always one blob, just had a blob of creamy/stretchy mucus too which is normal. I think it's just Sir Alex's way of keeping me on my toes

Hugs to mishka and happy days, it must be a very difficult time for both of you.

I've not had anymore spotting so far son fingers crossed! Will be having a nice restful day tomorrow.

I just wondered what happens next?

My DR is in Northern Ireland. Did preg test and it was positive. Went to DR last Friday and he gave me a rough date of May 15th and then sent me down to the treatment room for a urinalysis test. It was clear and then the nurse told me I could go home.


Should I be calling up and asking about dates for scans and that sort of thing? I'm very keen to get one as I miscarried at about 6 weeks the last time and I can't get properly excited until I am sure it is there!

Do you know which hospital you are going to be going to? Its worth looking at their websites to see if they are self referral or GP/Midwife referral. If it is self referral, then you can go ahead and start the process. If its Gp/Midwife, then you'll need to get them to refer you. To get scans and booking in done, you need to be "in the system". Its possible that the doctors will call you once the Urine analysis is done, to start the process. Worth calling the surgery and asking what is next.

Congrats to those who have scan dates or have had happy scans.

I now have a date for my booking in and it's not until I am 9 weeks! So there is no chance of asking MW for an early scan the receptionist was rather snotty until I told her I usually book in around 6 weeks because of my mc history, but still said there was no hour-slot available. Well, no, maybe not, but if they took your history on computer at your first pregnancy then they wouldn't have to spend an hour asking each time you go back would they? And if tey just send me for bloods to the bloods lady instead of the MW fruitlessly digging about in my arm like she does each time I book in (left a scar the time before last too) then I'd probably only need 20 minutes! Grrrrr.

So, Oh has said we can get a private scan and put it on the credit card. Not ideal but I cannot wait another four weeks and possibly be carrying a dead baby.

Talking of scans, for those asking about dates changing, I have read somewhere reliable but didn't keep a copy, that all scans are only really accurate to plus or minus 7 days,so any scan can and probably will be up to a week out either way. It's why I don;t take EDDs very seriously. ANyway, no need to stress about the dates they give you, baby will come when it's ready! (apparently most first-time mums don;t give birth naturally till 41 weeks anyway).

Glad you are going to get a private scan Skintchick. Ok it's not very MSE putting it on a credit card but I think it's worth it to put your mind at rest and I would have had one if we were not lucky enough to get one on NHS. If it helps to relax you then it's worth it as stress is no good for you and beanie.

Having fun on my holibobs. Although I had a cr*p night's sleep last night. I never sleep well in a strange bed, that coupled with my recent inability to sleep properly made for a long night. Oh well I may have to have a nap this afternoon

Morning emsbet.
Glad you are having fun. I had a crap night sleep too. I was so tired that I fell asleep at 8:30 - 10. Went to bed, fell asleep til 1 and that was me for a few hours, wide awake. Little boy decided 6:30 was the time he wanted to get up today so we are sat here watching Dora.

Oh happydays sorry to hear your news. With my first pregnancy my fiance left me 2 weeks after our first scan, and got back with his ex. I was devestated but did it on my own, all on my own. I somehow got through it, you will too. He never saw his son, and sadly died on my sons first birthday. I have a fantastic man now who is my sons daddy, you would never know they weren't blood related, they are so so close.
