    Congrats candlewax.

Very tired here today, it's my 9th day in a row at work, only 3 more to go!! I get up at 6am too so I'll be like a zombie by friday! I was hoping my 'lie-in' yesterday would have helped but as I was awake half the night worrying about the scan I think the hour extra in bed was probably not much help!!

I had a quick look at prams yesterday and seem to like the most expensive one I saw best! Not really thinking about anything like that seriously for a good while yet but felt like I could get a bit excited about stuff again after the scan.

I have to get up at 6;15 which normally isn't a bother as I'm more of a morning person but since being pregnant it's a real struggle.

I know the style of pram I want but I'm not looking properly until after the 26th and we won't be buying it until much later as I'm feeling superstitious and so I don't want it in the house. It will probably have to be stored in the garage and I don't want it in there too long.

    xx

    Candlewax,
All good advice from the ladies already, but the other thing to do is have a think about which maternity hospital you would like to be refered to for your care. Worth looking around, to see what each offers, and what will suit you, and the stats for different hospitals. This is a useful site.

Going prepared to your appointment is a good thing, as it means the doc/midwife can get the referal process started asap.

    Congrats!!

  • Congratulations Candlewax, is this your first?

I'm not doing too well on the healthy eating front. Most food is making me feel sick at the moment so I am filling up on Lime Doritos!! Good job I am drinking milk and taking pregnancy vitamins.

How is everyone else doing? Hope you managed to get some sleep happydays

I can't stop eating! I feel sick if I get too hungry but there is no build up to it. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm starving, dizzy and feel sick!!! I'm going to end up the size of a house at this rate!

Just had a look at the link Kira posted that gives info about the different hospitals but for mine its not really very good as it only shows survey results for the local NHS trust which covers atleast 3 different hospitals and I know that the general views of 2 of them are very different from each other! I'm not worried about making a choice anyway as the local one is less than 10 mins drive away and is a lovely brand new unit so I'll be going there. I couldn't be doing with the stress of an hours drive to a different one!

    Hey ladies
Sorry I haven't been back on to update but the sickness returned so I was back in hospital. It is now at bay and should it occur again I can try steroids which help alot more now I'm past 12 weeks.

My scan went really well only got put back 1 day so now due 18th march which makes me 13w 2d!!

Still suffering with the tiredness though I feel like I could sleep for the next 6 months!!!

    Hope everyone is well. Xxxx

  • Hi Sammi

Glad your scan went well, sorry to hear the sickness returned.

Re doctors appointments/bookings, you can't make one at my doctors unless you have done a urine sample and it has come back positive. I thought that was the norm in most places when you have found out you are pregnant.

So glad everything is ok Sammie! I'm sorry you've had to be stuck in hospital again but it's good news that they can try something a bit more effective if you have the sickness again.
Hopefully you are over the worst of it now.

Nope no one has tested mine, although I had my scan at six weeks so I guess there was little need :rotfl:
I think a lot of areas don't test you and just take your word for it, which is strange.
