I've found out for you Lisa. It's called The Swan Hotel and is in Newbury Bridge. This is their website http://www.swanhotel.com/ - it does look lovely, it has a Spa and Pool and I want to go now! :rotfl:

Thanks EMsbet, that does look lovely. I'll show DH later. He might say its a bit too South though as he tends to prefer the Ambleside and Keswick areas. We'll not be doing any huge mountains by then though so he might fancy a change!

Laura, my work don't know yet as we're going through restructuring and redundancies at the minute. I already know that a job on shifts has been allocated to me but I don't want them to know I'm pregnant until its all signed and sealed as they might decide its not worth putting me into that job for the few months I will be here. I deffo want to do it for as long as I can as I'll get 30% more pay!!! DH is going to be on the same shift (but not working directly together!!!) so he'll be able to help me with anything I'm struggling with later on.

I wasn't planning on telling my manager so early but ended up telling her at around 5 weeks, not long after I'd found out myself in fact. I then didn't tell the rest of the team until I'd had my scan. The reason I told her so early was that we had an awards dinner coming up, and not all of the team were able to go, so I wanted to relinquish my space for someone who would have been more able to take advantage of the free bar! I think a couple of people on the team twigged, when they heard I wasn't going, but no-one said anything to me until I went into work in the afternoon after my scan and was showing the picture to anyone who'd come within 5 feet of my desk... :D :rotfl:

emsbet - that hotel looks lovely! Am going to see if we can afford a weekend away now! :D

  • I dont intend on telling my work to as late as possible (or however long we can keep quiet for which i am already struggling with as sister in law has just told us shes pregnant also due April). Ive only been back to work for 2 weeks, after maternity leave and 3 months unpaid leave after having my son so want to wait until i get my new contract, im starting to worry that i wont entitled to maternity pay as i wont have been working the 26 weeks before qualifying week but have been employed by them (long story work could not find any vacancies for me so to stay on books and hope for vacancy to come up took the unpaid leave).

So wish i had more symptons! only feeling slightly sick in the morning nothing else which kind of worries me, last time i was as sick as a dog, sore boobs!
  • For the ladies that had early scans, can you see much at 8 weeks? I am looking at booking one for a week Sunday when I will be 7+5

I had one at 7+1 and one at 9, we saw the heartbeat on both, just a tiny flicker. On the first you could see a little blob that was the baby, and another which was the egg sac apparently? At 9, just a bigger blob! :D

Thanks. Silly question but did you think it was worth the money? I dont think we will have our first scan till mid - late october and I really really want to see the baby :)

I didn't pay for mine, I had some bleeding which was eventually written off as just my cervical erosion. I think it would depend on what you were looking for? If you expect to see loads of detail, probably not, but if you're just after the reassurance of seeing the heartbeat, then it probably would be, if you have the money? Bear in mind though, it is only reassurance for the time you are sat there having it, you will stress again afterwards just in case anything changes!:D

Just to give you an idea, here is my 7 week. The part on the right that looks like a head is actually the egg sac, the baby is the small blob on the left. If you do decide to pay for one, maybe google when the heartbeat usually shows by, as that is the main thing to look out for at this stage. You wouldn't want to go too early and stress unnecessarily.

That's pretty much what mine looked at at 6+1 except you can see a bit less as baby was having a cuddle with my uterus wall :D

When I showed my best friend I said "Look at my fish baby" :)
