Hello lovely new people, and congratulations!

I really do think some GPs just don't make the connection between medical wellbeing and mental wellbeing sometimes Alizee, don't worry, my experience was similarly offputting though! My GP said congratulations, but was very clear that it was early days and most women did not know they were pregnant until 6-7 weeks, and so I felt I had tested too early and it put me off asking my questions. There seems a huge gap between seeing the GP at 5 weeks, and as I don't have my booking in date, I have no contact details for a midwife etc, I know that's just the way it is, but without the internet how on earth did parents to be cope!?

Just remembered some things I've been meaning to ask for a few days, does anyone else wake up in the night, or have disturbed sleep, and didn't before? I always always sleep through, but that last two weeks something's been waking me up at 4am then 6am, not needing the loo, but often I feel nauseous when I wake, and then struggle to drift off again!

Also, my book doesn't say much about when cravings start, do you guys have any yet? I couldn't pin point anything, but I am finding I'm picking and choosing my meals with great indecisiveness, and nearly cried when OH made beans on toast last night when all I could think about was quiche!

Amymo, sleep is one of my early symptoms, I always get pregnancy insomnia, almong with sore boobs, and enhanced sense of smell, oh and vivid dreams too.

I haven;t had cravings or nausea in any of my pregnancies so no idea when they can start.

  • Congratulations on your BFP Skintchick :T

My sleep was very disturbed in the first couple of weeks for no reason, now I wake up 3 - 4 times a night to wee!!! I haven't had any cravings but I have found Marmite is no longer my mate :( I had been having marmite and tomato sandwiches for lunch at work as it has loads of folic acid and B12 in it but now just the thought of it makes me feel sick.

Morning all! You know what I said about wanting more symptoms yesterday......be careful what you wish for! Last night whilst preparing our tea I started to feel tummy cramps which very quickly became worse to the point I went dizzy, hot, clammy, thought I was going to be sick etc!!! They did ease of quite quickly but I then went to the toilt and had a small amount of bleeding just when I wiped. I remembered reading on here that you shouldn't worry about cramps unless they took your breath away.....which mine most definately did so we went to A&E but I was actually seen by one of the out of hours GPs. He checked me for an ectopic pregnancy (I'd not even thought of that) and said he was pretty confident it wasn't that. He said it could be an early warning sign of a miscarriage, could be my body telling me I need to go a bit steadier or he seemed to think it was most likely to be implantation pain and bleeding. By the time I got home there hadn't been any more bleeding and the cramps were very mild. I've been ok over night (not had much sleep though...knicker twitching!!) but have just had a teeny bit of brown tinged cm when I wiped a few minutes ago. The doc last night has booked me in for an early scan on Monday morning so I'll have to wait and see what it tells us!

Unfortunately DH is struggling and getting very upset so its more me supporting him than the other way around but thats life!!!

Hopefully your doctor is right and it is just implantation bleeding that has taken it's time to come out. Like Laura said brown blood is old blood. Hopefully your scan will show a lovely heartbeat on Monday :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    xx
