hi everyone. we found out i was pregnant a couple of days ago and i am overjoyed but terrified!

i took a test because i was having period like craps (not to that extent, thank goodness! i get horrid periods)

according to a calculator i used i am 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant so very early. My due date is the 9th of may 2012

unfortunately the period-like pain has not stopped. i haven't had morning sickness yet but my bbs feel sore and uncomfortable and i've been sleeping loads.

The pain comes and goes, it can be a little sharp sometimes. i am so scared of losing the baby!

it's my first pregnancy ever and i don't know what to expect. we told close family but we're trying to keep it like this for a while.

    Welcome alizee

The cramps are normal. Your uterus grows a huge amount in the first 12 weeks (well through the whole pregnancy obviously) and after 3 months it has increased so much in size that it moves up out of your pelvis. To prepare for this, your other organs need to move to make space. It isn't therefore surprising if this can be felt, in the same way you would feel it if you were stretching any other large muscle and not letting go.

I'm on pregnancy number 4 and have had this for each one, and whilst it's hard not to worry, it is completely normal! You should find things ease up a bit if you sit or lie down for half an hour or so. If you have severe pain accompanied by heavy bleeding though you should check that out.

Hope you are doing ok emsbet, good choice to stay off work I think :)

Got my scan in 1 week today!! Think I might have a little bump now too, although it could just be crisps and cheese!!

My skin is dreadful atm, sooo spotty :( all for a good cause though. I have just spent an hour and a half sorting through my spare room, threw out a load of junk which we just dont need. There is still loads left though, not sure how I will part with it all before the room becomes a nursery!!

Hope you are all ok, have a great wkend, and emsbet, hope all is ok. x

Thanks sunshine. I haven't had anything since this morning so fingers crossed all is ok.

Oooo! Next week how exciting! :j

I also have a protruding belly but I think it's more food than baby :rotfl: I've got the crappy skin but I'm just covering it in makeup ;)

Welcome Alizee. As nicki says cramping is normal just stretching.

    xx

    Glad ur ok Emsbet xx
Hope everyone else is ok! Sat here atm, and can feel the baby wiggling! Not kicks or anything, just like bubbles rippling! So weird to think I was on this thread just 2 weeks ago!
My cramping has only eased up the last week Alizee, i`m sure its worse the 1st pregnancy as you actually have muscles that are still tight in that area! As long as theres no blood, my midwife told me theres no need to worry if the pains arent taking your breath away x

thank you. it's reassuring to know other people have had something similar too.
the receptionist booked me in as soon as she could because i am also overweight and suffer from tachycardia as well so hopefully i'll get some sort of peace of mind on wednesday!

not sure when to let my employer know. my job involves sometimes 8 hours of standing up non stop..

    emmy i bet it's such a lovely feeling :)

:wave:hi im so excited to be joining you all, been reading the thread since thursday as i started feeling so sickly and with my period being late i just knew!:)

so test done at 6am this morning cos i was too excited to sleep and a BFP was staring back at me!!! concieved 2-3 weeks ago so correct with me thinking im 5 weeks tomorro and due may 6th!!

this is my second, i have a ds 4 who is disabled, we only decided to come off the pill after my period at the beging of june so have caught on very quicky, we decided to leave having another baby in fates hands with having a disabled child already, there always seems to be something going on with him and we'v been puttin off tryin for the last year. we did say when we got pregnant that it would all work out (i believe everything happens for a reason including being given an extra special child to care for in my ds) but also said if we didnt, then that was fine as we have already been gifted with ds.

so in a way this will all be kind of new to me as i was very poorly with my first pregnancy and in hospital from 30 weeks, had him at 37 and he was in intensive care until he was 6 weeks old. he didnt have an muscle tone so i never felt kicks or movements so very much looking forwards to that!

after what we went through the fist time we dont really want to shout about this one until we know everything will be ok so it will be great if i can join in with you all and natter about it freely.

congratulations to everyone else:beer: looking forward to getting to know you all xxxx

    Congratulations BJD

A bit more bleeding again this morning :(. Still not loads and it seems to have settled down again. I may just have overdone things yesterday. OH is travelling to India first thing tomorrow morning though so will be alone with all 3 kids until Wednesday and not easily able to do anything medical before he gets back so am hoping it will settle again. Yesterday I wore black knickers and didn't pay too much attention to the loo roll and felt much happier. I'm working on the basis if it gets heavy enough to be sinister then it will be obvious whatever I'm wearing so no point in torturing myself, but I forgot that strategy for the first wee of the day!
