Oh no! I was hoping you'd both say you feel great and are glowing. I live in hope.

Sorry!! We've both had it easy so far so maybe its pay back for us?!

The releif you get after your scan helps you sleep (well it did for me!).

Sorry, I'm sure you've said - but when is your scan?

JCR I seem to work on the same body clock as you! DH and I are swaying towards finding out but that's simply because our fave pushchair comes in such cute colours so we're loathed to go for black or grey when the other colours are lovely. Shallow! Also, we'd like to personalise the nursery to pink or blue. However, we are both keen on having the news at the birth. I guess we'll see whether the baby wants us to know at the next scan.

We have chosen names too and we both love our pink name. We've been given some boy bits and another friend has girl bits to give us.

That said, a healthy baby is all we want.

i have found out with dd and ds1, but we didn't find out with ds2 and i have to say the moment when they said they sex apart from me being in disbelieve( iw as so convinced he was a she. with my last boy i was huge, proper defined ball belly, last preg small bump really hidden and so different.) it was an overwhelming moment. it was amazing. i loved being strong enough to not find out and waiting till he arrived . but on the other hand , i didn't feel as close to him as i did the other two. all through the pregancy i loved knowing what i was having i have nick names ( angle bobbins for dd , and pee wee for ds) but ds2 was just bean.

as for buggy i had a lush grey polka dot pliko with last baby it was was fab, everyone commented on it. and i used baby blue blankets and hanging toys to jazz it up. and you don't need to buy pram until baby is here.if you don't want to find out sex, as most shops open 7 days a week , even 24/7 if online.

there are pro's and con's for finding out and for not finding out. baby will prob be in with us for first 6 months anyway , so not worried about nursery decor. but having said that i have cream walls and cream carpets or wooden floors in every room, as i like netural decor then colours to assorioes.

but i think tho when it is your first you do want everything ready and organised as early on as poss, which is completely natural. unlike me who take a very laid back approach and likes to wait till last minute or until after baby born. i've surprised myself by getting names sorted so early, lol.

Thanks JCR your post is helpful. I really can't decide and think DH will go along with what I want. We'll probably have this as a hot topic of conversation for the next 6 weeks and then get to our scan only for the bubs to hide the important bits!!

A friend said that she found it easier to bond with the baby that she knew what the gender would be but equally she loved the surpise of baby number 1.

    We'll see . . .

It's on April Fools day! I can imagine we'll end up tossing a coin to decide in the end and then not be able to anyway!

Will you get a private scan at all later on? I don't think I will because I've got plenty of other things the money could be well spent on.

no , i would go for private if i had for the other 3, but hubby said it would seem weird doing for one when we hadn't for the others. which i can totally understand. plus with 3 other children i think i'd prefer to spend the money on doing something with them.

I haven't been too bad either, on the whole. Just some days are tough. I had my scan at 10weeks as they thought I was further along (long cycles). It was good but didn't see that much because it was quite early. Definitely a bouncing baby there though!

I think I'll have to try and find out if boy or girl. We're both technically minded and like to plan and weigh up all the options all the time :o there are soany unknowns in pregnancy I just can't handle it! The private scans are really expensive for later on aren't they? I think I saw a dating one was £100 then the OSCAR testing at 12 weeks is £200 round here and the later ones are hundreds (400 I think!). Not sure I'd be prepared to fork out that amount.
