    Hi Ladies,

Me and my hubby have started to think about money and how much we will have to live on when the baby comes along. We are putting money aside every month and buying little bits every time we go shopping.

I've tried going on that entitled to web-site, but I just can't make sense of it! I've never claimed tax credits before and they seem very complicated, or maybe its just me?!

I know they take last years income into account, does this mean that you aren't entitled to any tax credits in the first year of your childs life? I get reasonable maternity pay which is great, I'm just wondering what else we will be entitled to, even if its not much, it all helps! Especially when I go back to work and bambino goes to either a child minder or nursery.

Hope everybody is having a good weekend. I feel like I'm coming to the end of my sickness now which is a relief, can't believe I'll be 10 weeks this week, only feels like a second ago when I was 4 weeks!

PS - Kira, the toasted cheese and pickle sandwich was good, so much so DH wanted one too!

Dribbles...... you cant go far wrong with a good C&P toastie IMHO. Esp since i was subsisting on toast and cheese through my worst m/s, and now i really fancy sour, tangy foods, so the pickle is really hitting the spot. I never thoought i would be someone who would fancy a jar of gherkins (hate them!), but am starting to see the attraction!!!!
I have a feeling that im going to be annoying our canteen staff for toasties for the foreseeable future!

WHich Ikea were you at? I've been to a few around england (plus france, spain and wales), and i think the croydon one (now our closest) has to be the worst.

All this talk of cheese toasties is making me want one!! I've just discovered penguin wafer biscuits, I've never had one before but I'm hooked now and just eaten 3! Soooo glad that my appetite is returning!

Hi Kira, I was at the Wembley Ikea, they are all the same though.

I was just eating salted pickled onions :)
I have noticed I am going off tea, I used to be a tea-monster and I even moved over to de-caf tea. Now I'd rather drink weak squash.

Not been so cold the last few days but back to work tomorrow so we shall see how it goes there. Oh joy.

Glad your appetite is coming back Jannine!
I've recently discovered sour jelly belly beans. Soooo much nicer than the normal jelly belly's- although i love those too. Have also tried for the first time, the new sour rowntrees fruit pastilles. Yummmm. but very sour indeed! Gave me a citric acid ulcer on my tongue, but still loving the sour!

I was a huge tea drinker, at least 5 cups a day before getting pregnant! I haven't had a cup for over a month now, just having apple juice or squash. Somebody at work actually guessed because I stopped drinking tea, so i do agree that is very common for a pregnant lady to go off tea/coffee.

    Hi All

Janine - i know what you mean, i have been on that website and its soooo confusing. I did a calculator thing and i pretended that bean was already here - it gave me a random figure but i wasnt sure if that was over the year or per month...arghh.

I dont know what we will do when i return to work, i am planning on having 7-8 months off but i dont know about nursery or childminders just yet...gonna be expensive either way though.

I have been really tired this weekend, had a nap yesterday afternoon :o went to the next sale this morn and had a little look in Mothercare...when are people planning on buying anything? I nearly got a little hat and thought noooo because i dont really know when i am supposed to buy bits, any advice?

I've bought a few bits, but only because i've had a scan and everything was ok. I think most people wait until the first scan at least!
