Afternoon Ladies,
Hope your are all OK! I'm at nearly 10 weeks now and fingers crossed, starting to feel a little better and not as sick and tired!
Just a quick question, I'm going away with my hubby at the end of August and the place we are going has a hot tub, would I be OK to use this do you think? I will be 16 weeks by then. I've looked on-line and there is a lot of conflicting information. Think I might call the midwife and ask, though I don't want to sound like I'm asking silly questions!
Soooo pleased its Friday, nice relaxing weekend planned with lots of resting and being looked after by my husband!
Take care.

Grrrrr I feel so peed off and have no idea why. I've moved here and don't know anyone, I'm trying so hard to get a job but there is nothing, and I feel like I'm running out of time. I have no where to go everyday when OH is at work
it's really getting me down. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I need a slap around the chops
... :coffee:well Gilly I think if I was in your situation I would be peed off too. I am home so understand the cabin fever issues and have stayed in much more because of feeling unwell though am better now than I was. I hope something turns up work wise. Moving somewhere new will be unsettling but perhaps there is something you like doing where you could join a group eg is there anything for pregnant ladies, hobbies, libraries, swimming, volunteering it doesnt matter what it is but it may get you out and you may meet others who are in your situation too. Or even an adult learning course which would help maybe brush up on skills etc. And remember Gilly your hormones are not helping at the mo !!
Take care

Thanks Ro, it's so hard being far away from friends and family
It's annoying me being out of work too, I had a job that I quit to move here which I wouldn't have done had I known I was pregnant. just a shi**y situation at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a good weekend.
I'm awake far too early for a Sunday, after DH said something about the maternity pay regs last night I've been worrying about it, so I've had to get up and check. According to a couple of online calculators, as long as my due date isn't moved back further than 5th Feb, I'll qualify for SMP. If not, it's just the maternity allowance. As the sole earner, I was already going to just take 6 weeks SMP plus 2 weeks holiday, but if I only get MA then I might have to reduce that even furtherI think I'm just going to worry now until my scan date
My DH also tried to 'fix' the toilet flush and now it doesn't switch off properly, so I kept having to wake up in the night to ask him to go and turn the flush off (he's had an upset stomach overnight so that was quite a few times). Why he can't just stay in the loo for an extra 10 seconds to check, I really don't understand. Aaaargh.
OK, now I've had a moan at you I'll try and be more cheerful for the rest of the day.0 -
Morning ladies, I feel great today, had such a long lie, just had my tea and toast, and gonna nip up to Tesco, get some Roast Beef for sunday lunch, yum.
Bluebell Try not to worry too muchI'm in a similar situation, I'm still applying for jobs, so will only get MA if I get one. My OH has to drop his hours down come September as he's back at uni  I'm trying not to worry as it just makes me feel worse. We will get alot of help from out parents though, that's the only upside. I'm sure they won't push your date back further, how many weeks are you now?

On the upside ladies ( i'll always try and find one!), SMP is taxed and NI'd, but i believe that MA is not taxed, so at least you get to keep a bit more of what you get.
Just been to Ikea, it was HORRENDOUS! We had planned to go very first thing to beat the queues, and got up nice and early, but when i checked the stock indicator before heading off, it said no stock of the chest we wanted, so we aborted the trip. Just happened to check again at 11am, and it was back in stock, so we decided to go for it anyway, but of course it was packed by then and full of stupid people getting the way and walking unfeasibly slowly (which really winds me up). So now home, with chest, but very tired and very very hungry. All i fancy is fish and chips. Terrible! At least its protein tho i guess.
Hope you all have a nice sunday.

Oh the joys of Ikea ... I was there this morning also to take some left over kitchen things back. The Returns Dept truly is hell on earth even when you get there early and only have 2 people ahead of you.
Now that our kitchen is fitted, just patch plastering, tiling and painting to finish it's already sooooo much better than the tired old one that was there before. We've also had the oven cleaned (couldn't possibly in my delicate condition :rotfl:) and the oven man has done us proud - it looks brand new!!
House is still a complete tip though and slowly I am getting stuff back in it's original/new home. I'm wearing blinkers because it's filthy dirty but I'm too tired to finish it all
PS - Kira, the toasted cheese and pickle sandwich was good, so much so DH wanted one too!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0
