    Hi all :)

My sister has been down today - she's 15 weeks pregnant :)

I need to write my resignation letter to work, but not sure when to do it. The thing is, I work in the Women and Childrens Department at the hospital - at least I did before I had DD (19 months) I haven't been back since as she wouldn't settle with the childminder. Anyway, once I've been to the midwife at 8 weeks, they'll send my inof up to the hospital who'll then arrange the scan. But I know everyone who works there, so it'll get round like wildfire once they see my information arrive! I ought to do it before then I suppose.

I really can’t wait for my scan date to come through! I’m 8 weeks tomorrow & the paperwork got sent off last Wednesday so hope it comes quickly – if for no other reason than I need to have lots of notice to get OH to work from home instead of being in Scotland & missing it all!

Had a bad day pain & ms wise yesterday but after 10 hours sleep I feel pretty good today. Have finally mastered the art of 'little & often' I think - even though it's been 3 packets of crisps, 1 piece of toast & a sandwich that so far has taken 3 hours to nibble through.... :rotfl:

    Hey everyone

MS been ok today, we have heard today that OH's mum is in intensive care she has been ill for a number of years and the outlook is not good, its a difficult situation we havent spoken to her for 4 years (her choice not ours) OH is putting on a brave face but I can tell he is heartbroken :( hes been at the hospital shes not awake though shes on a ventilator. Really dont know what to say to make him feel better.

Hes at the hospital now, hes gonna ring me when he wants picking up :(

Write it now. I'm the type to keep putting things off and saying "I must do that soon". Usually find that making a start is the hardest bit and then it's much easier. Write the basics and then you can go back and fill it out or change it.

bella Huge hugs bella and your OH.

I've been off work today. Started with a chesty cough at the weekend and it's been getting worse every day. I'm not normally one for taking time off work but one thing I'm learning in this pregnancy is to listen to my body and I realised it's not going to get better if I just keep plodding on. Glad I didn't go in to work because today I also feel like I've been punched in the face* so guess that's sinuses. I've been lying in bed all day eating crisps and biscuits. Mr twilight should be home from work in an hour or so and I expect will tell me off for,
    1. getting crumbs in the bed, and
    2. eating all the biscuits.

Well, that's 1 day further along for us all :T. I don't like wishing my life away but love seeing the number of days/weeks go down.

    * ETA I've never actually been punched in the face so don't really know what it feels like!!!

Has anyone else had terrible skin since getting pregnant?

I never ever used to get spots now I have a forehead covered in them, my line lip (eugh) and tops of my shoulders. I feel so disgusting.
The ones on my lip line are really sore and bright red. The worst is currently sat in the little groove that you have on your top lip in the middle.

I had moderate hormonal acne before and had it nicely under control with contraceptive pill and prescription cream. Both had to be stopped when I wanted to conceive so my skin got worse but I can't really blame it on pregnancy. My face isn't too bad (although some people might not be happy to live with it, it's fine by my standards) but I've noticed lots of small spots and bumps on my upper chest which weren't there before. Seems to be settling down a bit now.

Well nothing major to report from me today.

Lots of dry retching when I woke up this morning and ready to sleep my about 3 o clock but have plodded on so OH is taking me out for dinner tonight as we haven't actually officially celebrated yet.

Naughty as should be saving the pennies but hey, nice to be treated.
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

    Hi Ladies

    Can I join??

I got my BFP yesterday - lovely Valentines Day present!! It says I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant, I believe I ov'd on 29 Jan.

I've booked an appointment at the doctors for Thursday. Is there anything I should be doing apart from taking it easy? I'm trying to eat healthier and I'd cut out alchohol already, don't smoke etc etc.

This is my first so it's all new to me and my hubby. I'm sooo excited. Apart from feeling like I have footballs on my chest (they're soooo tender), the fact I need to pee and a bit of tummy cramps.........I'm doing good. I don't care, it'll all be worth it and keeping everything crossed that nothing goes wrong.

My oh has already said i'm not to do any lifting or cleaning (chemicals) hee hee - think i might enjoy the next 9 months!!

  • I love all our moaning and disgusting symptoms!!
I'm going to join in! I'm completely worn out & getting upset with OH, we planned for me to be pregnant, but he's not paying any attention to it/me/the situation! No sympathy, no help. This morning I asked him to take DS to school (OH doesn't leave for work till after school run, so would only mean getting up 45mins earlier) and he refused! I could have had an extra 1hr 1/2 in bed before work. I said I need help & he just said 'you knew it was going to be like this when u got pregnant' !!!!
6 weeks today! 1/2 way through the scary bit! No contact from Dr/midwife yet :(
Really want to tell someone, anyone! When is it acceptable to tell? Going to visit family in March and tell them, but want to share with 'school mums' but we're not that close. Don't have friends nearby :(
Sooo hungry, but going to bed now to save 600 calories for tomorrow!! :)
