OK, so now I'm hungry! Really shouldn't have read all that. Have just eaten two chocolate biscuits to help. :o Hmm...now what to have for dinner?!?

Has anyone noticed their shopping bill change much? Between buying folic acid, fresh juice and more fruit and veg this week we were massively overbudget!

I've still had no MS (touch wood) but would like some more symptoms really so it can feel more real. Cramps from last week have settled and I seem to be carrying on as normal in all other ways. Told my cousin today as it felt more real when telling people.
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

  • Hi Ladies

I'm moving over from TTC. I got my BFP last week and I'm 5 weeks today (going by LMP):j

It's still not quite sunk in yet but I've had nausea for a week now so I know it's real!!

I'm also in quite a bit of pain with constipation. Does anybody know which over the counter remedies are safe to take?
I can't take Fybogel as it contains Aspartame and I'm intolerant to artifical sweetners :(

    Thanks so much x

You'll probs see the sac and there should be a heartbeat by this point. My friend had her first scan at around 6 or so weeks and so the sac/heartbeat x

You lucky thing! I think the most you could hope for at 6 weeks is to see a heartbeat. It usually starts around then but think I've seen that if it's not seen then they dont necessarily worry because it may be too soon. It'd be great if you got to see it but how would you feel if they couldn't find it? If it'd make you worry more then I'd be inclined to pass on this opportunity.

Thanks Sequeena and Twi1ight, I think we're going to see if we can have it done a week later instead. I think you're right twil1ght, I would no doubt worry if they couldn't hear a heartbeat, even if that was normal for that time scan. I know Im lucky to be in the position to be able to have an extra scan, so I think's it's important to get it at a time when we can see what's going on a bit more. Thanks for your advice girls.

I think I will go for a shot gun wedding. I fancy being all bumped up in a pretty summer maternity dress on the photos :T...thinking maybe June...for semi-decent weather.

Ooh, fantastic!! That will be lovely for you. I'm very jealous!

  • can i just say, in regards to smoking, i dont know who does or who has given up or still trying etc, but i think ive done bloody well and am giving myself a pat on the back lol
the plan was to obviously give up before i concieved but we had the coil taken out on the 17th dec and that was it concievedstraight away. hubby is moaning because he thought he would get a good couple of months of bding before i got pregnant lol
anyway so i did have about 5 cigarrettes in between finding out and the next couple of days after but since then i havent ad one and quite honestly i cant stand the smell of them at the mo, i wont even visit my friends house as it stinks (i havent told her that though, im sure its just my pregnancy smell as it never bothered me before) i personally didnt smoke indoors anyway but can really smell it if someone has just had a fagnear me.

  • Well done Mirrorimage :T:T

I gave up when I was pregnant with my son - he wasn't planned and I was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant when I found out. I cut right down to about 4 or 5 a day, and finally gave up completely a few weeks after that. I always thought that seeing heavily pregnant women smoking was just vile, and I didn't want to be one of them.

When I'd had my son and was in the maternity hospital, there was a lady in the same ward who was being induced, and she kept popping outside "for a faaag" while she waited for things to start happening. Classy!;)

It is a hard thing to do but it is the right thing to do, so you should feel proud of yourself!
