Can anyone help re how much fish you can safely eat when pregnant? All the advice online is doing my head in. I had a small piece of cod last week,a sardine roll yesterday and was planning on some salmon for tonight. Would this be too much? Thanks in advance x

I don't think the Cod count's so you're fine. From what I've read online it's more oily fish that's the worry. I think with Salmon you'd be completely fine too. From what I got online "Oily fish is known to be good for health and although tuna should not be taken in great quantities, mackerel, sardines and pilchards are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acid and are relatively safe to eat regularly. This fatty acid will cross through the placenta into the developing baby and also pass through breast milk following delivery."

Ro I'm hoping so, just keep having stupid thoughts and worries about things going wrong, I have no idea where they come from either, I figure I'm being irrational, but that's a woman thing :o

As much as you like.. it is mainly only tuna that they recommend is limited to 2 cans a week :D

Cod and salmon you can eat three times a day if you wish!!! However, you may grow scales and your baby may have gills!

On the subject of bumps, I'm just over 8 weeks now and have really started to get bigger! My clothes felt a bit tight from week 6, but I've just had to have a shopping weekend and buy lots of clothes with stretchy waistbands. Not quite at the maternity clothes point yet but feeling pretty big already, and I'm starting to wonder how much longer I can keep quiet about it! I'm normally a size 8-10, just slightly underweight according to BMI, so I suspect I'm going to end up HUGE if it carries on like this.

Off on holiday in a weeks time so hopefully I can keep it secret from my work colleages until I get back - will be just over 10 weeks then. However any suggestions as to how I can refuse to drink alcohol (without them getting really suspicious), when we're all going out on Tuesday evening for a G&T, would be much appreciated!

How about some sort of detox you're "doing" or you have a hangover from the night before ;)

I don't feel like I've put on any weight at all yet, but I wasn't skinny to start with so I should probably be grateful for this!

My mum was still in her size 10 jeans when she was 8 months pregnant
