Hi Gilly! At my appointment with the doctor last Monday he basically just filled in a form referring me to the surgery midwife. He took my blood pressure, asked a couple of questions about family medical history and that was pretty much it. The midwife then rang me a couple of days later and I've got my booking appointment with her this Thursday.
Went to the parents-in-law for lunch today and my MIL gave me a 'starter pack' of sleepsuits, scratch mitts, booties etc and a hooded towel set. Am hoping she's not tempting fate and have told her to not buy anything else for a few more weeks! But it is their first grandchild so I can understand she's excited.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Wow gillyx, still can't believe you had to wait that long. We at least you can get the ball rolling now.
4nnabella, shame its hard hey. My dad just wanted to tell everyone he knew, he didn't get the whole thing about keeping quiet till 12 weeks, so just had to explain how common a mc can be. Think I made him mega nervous now shame.DFD February 2012

Was wondering if anyone else had this:
I am around 8-9 weeks now and around this time last week I noticed a very small bit of blood on the toilet paper when I went to the bathroom, it wasn't a lot just a tiny bit of spotting, the same happened last night and it got me worried as this is my first pregnancy, I called the Doc and the told me to call the early pregnancy unit at my hospital, they said it wasn't anything to worry about and to call them back if it happens more regularly, I am probably being silly but I was a little worried and wanted to make sure everything was ok.0 -
Good luck today summerday - have everything crossed for you and bump
Hi Gilly, I got referred straight to the Midwife but I insisted on seeing the doctor because of my previous medical history. Good luck though!
Hi nikkiemac I've never had anything like what your describing but I hope all is OK. I might have read that you can spot a little but if it carries on I'd call them back
Hope everyone is having a good morning I need more sleep but I have a busy day ahead!

Hi nicciemac- shame hun, I completely understand you being worried. If it happens again, I would insist on being seen. Failing that, you could maybe try get seen privately.
I have been told that a little spotting is normal.DFD February 2012

7 weeks today
OH is at a funeral all day today, so I'm on my tod til night time, see that as an excuse to pamper myself.
Nicciemac I agree with mozzy, can't believe they're so off hand about it, if you really are worried I'd go see someone privately. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Hi all, i'm 10 + 1 today. Had scan last week as Dr thought I was 13 weeks, I was convinced I was 11 weeks, we were both wrong but all looked brilliant and have to go back on 28th for another scan. Very excited :-) Congrats to all you lovely ladies. xx0

Thankfully the scan went fine! Thanks for all your well wishes. They said I am 12+3 so due 23 December. It feels so much more real now. Can't wait to tell the in-laws tonight!
Nikkiemac- if it stays a very small quantity, it should be ok, but if it continues definitely insist on being seen. Also what shade of blood is it? Sorry if TMI.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
Hi Nikkiemac, I had that around the same time, and it was like a very light period. I rang the midwife who told me to go to A&E. After 5 hours at A&E on a Friday night I was seen. They took my blood pressure and said they couldn't check anything until Tuesday for a scan. After 4 days of constant panic I had a scan which showed two healthy babies (ahhh!)
From all the reading and advise I have received it can be perfectly normal however if you are worried insist on getting checked out.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
