The only thing you will be doing when you get in is putting your feet up!

Housework can wait. It'll never be spotless with a baby/child in the house, you might as well start adjusting now :p

Already have one and house is spotless lol
  • Well, my scan was fine they have dated me 10+3 weeks, baby was jumping around, but I had a real drama beforehand.

Last night when I got home from work I had a bleed, red and soaked through a pantliner then stopped (sorry TMI). Then again at 4am I had another red again but not quite as much but still a lot. I convinced myself the worst had happened, I spoke to the EPU last night who said to keep my scan appointment for today and to let the sonographer know what happened. I walked in the scan room and burst into tears but managed to tell them all about it. She scanned really quick in the first instance just to say that baby was fine, nice strong heartbeat and bouncing around. Then she did all her bits. They can't see anything of concern and couldn't see where the bleed was from. I went to the EPU after my scan and they just said that some women do bleed and said it could be a bruised area somewhere. I am still bleeding now but its brown and light (sorry TMI), I did tell the EPU this and they said that it should be ok the be brown.

Hoping it stops soon. I am now having two days off work and going back on Monday so four days lying on the sofa.

  • Hi ladies,

I went back to see the GP yesterday and she gave me a prescription for more cyclizine, she also took bloods and gave me a note for another week off work. This lying about with no energy to do anything is starting to get really boring. I think I'll be 12 weeks next weekend so I hope things start to pick up then.

I spent yesterday reading Madeleine by Kate McCann, I couldn't put it down and read it all in one day. I thought it would make me cry but it didn't, I didn't find it a very emotional book, rather factual, but I should imagine what she and her family has gone through and are still going through is hard to put into words.

Something that really stood out to me though is that apparently !!!!!philes target holiday destinations as parents are more likely to be relaxed / let their guard down / have a couple of glasses of wine / leave the patio door or window open .... They will watch an apartment for a few days trying to see if there is a family routine and an opportunity for them.

In the 6 months prior to Madeleine's abduction there were 8 reported cases of children being sexually abused in their beds whilst their parents slept in the room next door in Prai de Luz. None of these cases were investigated as the powers that be in the area do not want it to become common knowledge. This only came to light after Madeleine's abduction and 8 separate families got in touch with British police to tell them what happened and that they had been brushed off by the Portuguese police, that is 8 that come forward ....

I am not having a dig at Prai de Luz or Portugal as I love Portugal, but I think it is something that all parents should be aware of regardless of where you go on holiday with you little ones.

I'll get off my soap box and apologies for my little rant if anyone thinks it is misplaced, but it really struck a chord with me :(

    Hello everyone :hello:

I'm not feeling so sick now which is good.

Glad you're feeling better jenjade :)

Wonder Womble, when PG I can get emotional about just about everything so I try to avoid soppy films and books like that. My friend reads Jodi Picoult books, we're always swapping books between us and I've asked her not to give me any more of the ones about the children because they just upset me too much :(

No, and it's not likely to happen for quite some time! Never mind though.

OH will be furious as he wants me to move the kids to the village school because he thinks my travel is too expensive, it is over £100 per month, BUT what he doesn't realise is that when DD1 and twins start secondary, I would be having to go in the opposite direction to the village school, DD1 won't be ready for the (substantial) walk to the secondary that feeds to.

I can't let the twins go on their own as they have just no sense of danger at all (and most 7 year olds have some by now) and can't see them being ready at 11 either, and I can't be in two places at once. Whereas if they stay where they are at the town centre school, the secondary for that is en route before the primary, so to start with I can walk them there, then after that they could just get off the bus as it's literally just a cut through a car park to the school from there.

So this morning I have done all their admission forms for the town school and he knows nothing of this :o

Also I feel it gives us a bigger area to house hunt in, as it has a 4 mile ish catchment area, and if we have to go really out of area and they have to change then surely one school change is better than two.

Must admit I do find it a bit distasteful that she's written a book about it, it doesn't help get her back does it? I wouldn't leave my children asleep in my own home even to go to the shop, much less in a strange place to go out drinking.

    Hey everyone,

Had a bit of "bad" news today. My doctor has referred me to a specialist at the hospital for additional treatment. I had a tumour removed in 2008, unfortunatley it was wrapped around my thyroid which they removed also. There is some issue between my tablets and the pregnancy. Waiting on the appointment with the specialist to find out more.

My sickness has passed too but still tired

I know this sounds EXTREMELY daft but is anyone else showing?! I havent put weight on but my stomach is swollen and none of my trousers fit! OH said hes noticed i've "got wider" (cheeky so and so!)

    Hope your all ok x

Hey, hope everything goes ok with your specialist and that they can give you alternative meds?

I am already showing. I have a little round bump and I'm only 10+5, mind you I've never had stomach muscles so there is nothing there to hold it back. My trousers haven't fit from being 8 weeks and I've had to buy maternity trousers. My waist seems to be disappearing too, I've always had a small waist and wide hips.

I was telling my sister yesterday and she said I should count myself lucky that maxi dresses are in fashion, there was nothing like that when she was pg 7-8 years ago. She got me a lovely maxi dress from New Look, usually I look dreadful in them with my wide hips but this one looks nice. So, I'm going to live in it all summer :D

I've also had to get some bra expanders. I'm not sure what to do as all the maternity bras I have tried don't seem to give a lot of support, so at the moment I can still fit cup-wise into my underwired bras, and I'm using the bra expanders. I'm not really sure when you need to stop wearing underwires. I've got 3 sports bras which give a lot of support so I might just wear them instead of maternity ones.
  • I dont know about alternative meds - none have been mentioned as of yet. I cant 'not' have my meds, so will wait and see.

I dont have the stomach muscles to hold it in either lol I was panicking that because i had a rounder belly i would be having twins lol (oh has twins, we have twins - PLEASE GOD NO!! - DD has been pushing her luck oday, if i had 3 kids like that i'd be in a padded cell lol)

M&S do decent maternity bras xx oo and Mothercare have some gorgeous bra's in
