I took some anti sickness tablets with DD1 (now almost 9!) and she is fine. Unless I can blame her terrible attitude and absolute refusal to brush her teeth on the tablets and sue :p
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
  • Thanks Pigpen and Delain

hmmm although i have somewhat lost enthusiasm for the moment, am suddenly knackered! Might have to have a little sleep!
  • I went to the docs this morning about my nausea, feeling faint and tired all the time. She said my blood pressure is dropping instead of increasing when I stand up, possibly due to the fact that I can now only eat bread and special k, and drink water.

So she gave me some tablets for the nausea - cyclizine 50mg that I have to take 3 times a day. This should hopefully help with the nausea, and allow me to eat more foods, therefore helping with the blood pressure and the light headedness. She signed me off work for a week and wants to see me again next Thursday. I know the GP wouldn't prescribe anything unsafe, but I'm a bit dubious about taking these tablets. I don't know why because I have taken paracetamol a couple of times for a headache in the past few weeks and that is just on the Doctors say so that they are ok.

Has anyone else ever been prescribed anti sickness drugs when pg?

Cyclizine is the standard first choice drug for pregnancy sickness. It safe to take and its the same drug they give you in IV form if you are ever unlucky enough to be admitted for rehydration. Its also the anti sickness drug they give you along with Pethedine/diamorphine in labour to counter any sickness side effects so has been proven to be safe in pregnancy.

Another day spent thinking about babies when I should have been working. I was in a training course this morning and the guy was talking and although it was really interesting, I realised 10 minutes had gone by and I was just staring at him, not hearing a word. Literally haven't stopped thinking about babies all day. I have a feeling its not going to go away either - for the next 25 years!
