missymoo, I did my degree in english lit and really enjoyed it, but at the end looked at my options for work and kind of went 'oh' :rotfl: I did want to go into teaching at college but changed my mind halfway through the degree. I think college teaching would be better than in high school as the kids have picked the subjects so are more inclined to listen and enjoy the lessons.

Congrats for getting your essay off in time though, they're definitely one thing I don't miss having to do! :rotfl: Funnily enough my dissertation was a whole lot easier to write than any of my 2000 word essays ever were

yep, hence why I'm in such a tricky situation job-wise at the mo too, when I left uni the only job I could find was my crummy shop job, which was supposed to be a temporary measure while I found my office/receptionist job to get my foot in the door of an admin career which of course has never managed to get off the ground :( Then when we moved I wasn't planning on getting pregnant so I've been applying for other shop jobs in our new town just to get me out of my current one which I hate and is now practically a 1.5 hour journey each way, most of which is walking  It's just difficult to know what to do for the best now  It's odd when you have a set plan in your head of what you want to do and suddenly it all has to change!

  • I am starting to hate all the random aches and pains I keep getting. I wish I knew what they were....
  • Morning, I'm starting to feel really really sick :( Does not bode well as I reckon I'm only about 5 weeks. I had HG with DS that lasted til about 25 weeks and ended up in the hospital on fluids. Hoping this is just a one off....I ordered some sea bands off ebay so hoping they'll come today. Is it 8 weeks for booking app usually?

  • I went to the docs this morning about my nausea, feeling faint and tired all the time. She said my blood pressure is dropping instead of increasing when I stand up, possibly due to the fact that I can now only eat bread and special k, and drink water.

So she gave me some tablets for the nausea - cyclizine 50mg that I have to take 3 times a day. This should hopefully help with the nausea, and allow me to eat more foods, therefore helping with the blood pressure and the light headedness. She signed me off work for a week and wants to see me again next Thursday. I know the GP wouldn't prescribe anything unsafe, but I'm a bit dubious about taking these tablets. I don't know why because I have taken paracetamol a couple of times for a headache in the past few weeks and that is just on the Doctors say so that they are ok.

Has anyone else ever been prescribed anti sickness drugs when pg?

In early pregnancy your bp is supposed to drop! It is perfectly normal.

Loads of people took the meds for sickness.. a lot have graduated though now so all is going well.. they'll be fine!
