I think they do dating and nt at the same time, I choose not to have the nt bit done.
Sure someone will be along soon.0 -
Hello, I've got my first appointment with the midwife on wednesday this week
She's doing blood tests, wants a urine sample and is doing a glucose test...my question is-can i eat before these blood tests or not? The appointment isn't untill 11am, so if i can't eat till after i think i may pass out/throw up so i'm a bit concerned!
I'm struggling not telling people this time around, i have confided in my parents and sister. But can't wait till i can openly tell everyone, and stop worrying about squashing into my 'normal' clothes! I feel so fat right now, admitedly i've been eating too much but i'm sure my middle is getting bigger quicker then in my last pregnancy! Only another 4/5 weeks till i can tell everyone hopefully.
I'm still struggling to stay awake in the afternoon, but i haven't had any sickness yet (still bit of a dodgy tummy in the morning and i have terrible indigestion in the evening). It still doesn't feel real enough yet.

hi kira hun
Is your surgery in the process of booking your scan for you or is the midwife booking it at your 12 weeks appt as that may well be cutting it a bit fine, I had mine booked at 10 weeks and the earliest scan date they could do was 13+1 which was quite annoying. So might be best to ask the question. They can do a scan upto 13+6 for NT.
Hey spongebabs, welcome and I love the name. I think I'll join you on the slob front, I have just woken up from a 2 hour sleep and feel like I could continue to sleep for a week, so not very with it! I am currently laying on my sofa having taken off my bra (it hurts!!) (I still have my dress on I hasten to add) drinking tea, eating a cupcake with my blankie laying over me which could really do with a wash, so, feel every bit the slob!
Have just had a thought, with all my time off. I now have more than enough time to sort the house out and list all of the things on amazon/ebay that I need do, could have really done with doing this last weekend I know, but I'll just be glad to get it done!! Have 2 OU assignments to do this week, then friday I am free. Think I may also (if feeling less tired and less back achey) pop into the city on the bus on friday, stopping for lots of tea stops to keep the tiredness at bay and then have a lovely look in john lewis at their baby stuff then to mothercare, not that i intend on buying anything you understand, just browsing! Is anyone else sad like me and love walking around somewhere like john lewis, I love all of their duvet covers, and stationery and kitchen stuff, just their things in general really. Hmmm so thats my friday planned that way my assignments will be done tue- thur and i can spent all saturday and sunday listing stuff on ebay, ready to buy some maternity clothes, i am reeeeeaaaallllyyy starting to show!!!0 -

I've been feeling really really horrible with MS, couldn't function or do anything. Started off feeling a bit sicky when I woke up and just got worse and worse all day to the point where I started throwing up at about 7/8pm in the evening. Tried everything I could think of and literally at the end of my tether last week I went for some acupuncture and to say it worked like magic is an understatement, had two sessions so far and I feel more or less normal! Anyone else any experience of acupuncture?
not had acupuncture is it safe for the baby? how much as it. i would try anything just to be able to eat

Hi ladies. Hoping someone with a bit more experience of the baby thing can advise! My doctor has advised that being 36 (tomorrow!) i should have a NT scan as i'm considered higher risk with my age. But also said i wont get my first scan (dating) till 13 weeks and my booking in at 12 weeks.
I thought i had read that NT needs to be done between 11-13+5 weeks. It just seems to be cutting it a bit fine to get it done? Or will they do dating and NT at the same time?
I dont want to miss the chance, so not sure if i should be pushing for something earlier?
Thoughts?
Thanks!
I'm 37 and a half and was told by my midwife that my health authority do not consider me high risk, I would have to be over 40 to be high risk, and if I lived 10 miles away I would have to be over 44. Crazy isn't it?!?
Anyway, my understanding is that you have NT scan at the same time as dating scan. However, you can have a blood test at 16 weeks that is supposed to give a more accurate result. The hospital where we are having our scans only do the blood test as the NT is not as accurate. If we really wanted the NT we would have to go to a different hospital.Hello, I've got my first appointment with the midwife on wednesday this weekShe's doing blood tests, wants a urine sample and is doing a glucose test...my question is-can i eat before these blood tests or not? I saw my midwife last week for the same tests and had eaten before hand. They will ask you what time you last had something to eat as this can impact on your results for glucose I think.0 -

jenjade + glitter, my dreams range from being on a school trip to shooting a gang member (!) watching a wedding where the woman had been part scalped erm.... thats just to name a few, very very strange! When I mentioned it to the dr today she said that she'd never heard of having bad dreams whilst you're pregnant!!!! Felt like a right freak. But thanks to you guys atleast I know I'm not the only one..... not that I'm calling any of you freaks of course!0
