I may regret saying this but im so jealous of your morning sickness.....i know its early days for me but im waiting for more symptoms to kick in, apart from the constant mild cramping i need more proof that im pg still seems so unreal) Am i weird?
Got my first docs appointment on wed morning
I haven't had any sickness really and i'm 12weeks now - I've felt tired but that seems to have worn off.0 -
Jenjade it's perfectly safe for the baby of course! My first session was £50 and then it's £35 for follow ups, I have some insurance though that will reimburse me thankfully! It's been amazing the difference it's made to me and I really thought I'd suffer for 9 months like my last two pregnancies!0

Anyway, my understanding is that you have NT scan at the same time as dating scan. However, you can have a blood test at 16 weeks that is supposed to give a more accurate result. The hospital where we are having our scans only do the blood test as the NT is not as accurate. If we really wanted the NT we would have to go to a different hospital.
I saw my midwife last week for the same tests and had eaten before hand. They will ask you what time you last had something to eat as this can impact on your results for glucose I think.
re the nuchal scan... most sonographers are not properly trained to do the measurement properly. the Quadruple blood test they do at 16 week is pretty much useless without the nuchal measurement.. according to my consultant MW and the 2 com. MW's I asked about it.
I am ancient too and asked for the nuchal and quad test but they refused to do the quad test given the lack of nuchal measurement and I was promptly offered the amnio.
I decided against the amnio when I realised I was mmore excited about finding out the sex than I was whether it had a genetic disorder or not..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'm constantly having weird dreams too, about 3 or 4 every night, and I wake up after every one and they seem to just go round and round in my head so I find it hard to drop off again.
I was back at work today, had an awful dayIt felt like it was a thousand degrees on the shop floor but I was near the front doors so at least a little breeze was coming in, then I got asked to go on the tills for a while, my hands started shaking and my head went totally funny so had to excuse myself and go and sit down for a couple of minutes upstairs. Then the rest of my shift was boiling and dizzy and felt knackered straight away. I was off ill just before my week off though so used that as an excuse to avoid awkward questions, but think I'm going to have to tell her soon if I keep having days like this so she won't get mad at me popping off for a couple of minutes to sit down.
In better news, I have a phone interview on Thursday, although I'm still nervous about applying for something new while I'm pregnantGuess I'll just have to see how the phone interview goes before worrying about it too much!
I also think I'm going to have to tell my parents soon as we have a family wedding coming up and I won't be able to drink anything (definitely strange for me!) plus I feel like my tummy has increased quite a lot since they last saw me  which I'm putting down to the large quantity of junk food I've been eating but which does look quite suspicious!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

If you feel like that again.. get some food.. NOT sweets this is classic low blood sugar combined with the normal ow bp of early pregnancy.. a sandwich or pasta or somethingLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

No you're not weird. I wished for MS too because I wanted the reassurance of pg symptoms, plus in the first 2 weeks or so I was so hungry that I felt like I just ate continuously and my trousers no longer fit, I wanted MS so that I wouldn't eat as much. Be careful what you wish for ...... although it is reassuring to know that my body is doing what it should be doing and that the little bean is still stickingre the nuchal scan... most sonographers are not properly trained to do the measurement properly. the Quadruple blood test they do at 16 week is pretty much useless without the nuchal measurement.. according to my consultant MW and the 2 com. Just goes to show how varied the information / advice given is.missymoo81 wrote: »My doppler is here and I can hear the tiny heartbeat!! took me a good while to find it but when I did I cried, so relieved that its little heart is beating, am about 12 weeks now, so fingers crossed for my scan next monday.
