LOL... I have boundaries.. anyone touching without permission is slapped away.. I am fortunate not to have a touchy feely family.. I never much MS other than a few days of nausea.. and my mother learned her lesson after I refused to tell her about Squeak.. I was 17 weeks when she finay asked if I was pregnant and I said yes so she asked why I'd not told her and I replied 'because I cannot be @r$ed with you lecturing and condescending and then following it up with -but noone told me what I could do- like it changed the fact you had just been a b!tch'
This time I text her the scan pic and she said she would reply when she thought of something sensible to say.. given that hasn't happened in the last 50 odd years it may be some time lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

My mum overheard someone congratulating me last time, at my twins 7th birthday party... she drove off in a huff and didn't call me for days.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

On the breastfeeding, I was going to add just what PP posted. Women think it's going to be a hassle, but all the ladies I know who've done it say that it's so much easier than dealing with bottles all of the time (most of them pumped/did bottles occasionally). You don't have to worry about your kids getting poisoned either:

Are there anymore scans booked ladies?
17th May for me!
I feel humungous already! I dread to think what I'll be like in a few months lol.
Had one of my friends wanting a feel the other day, I can tell that in a few months I'll be growling something about it not being a petting zoo..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

pigpen I agree with glittermonster you are fab, I wish I had half of your backbone! You stand up for what you believe in which is fantastic in my opinion.
Thanks IamJen, it is good to hear other peoples opinion on bf-ing. Although have just come back from my sisters and she told me that its more hassle than its worth and she didn't with either of hers and that it is so much easier with a bottle and why would I make life more difficult for myself and how your boobs get sore and you can't eat or drink certain things still etc etc.... see what I have to put up with!!!0 -
Most of the time I avoid places where I know I will become hostile.. it makes life easier.. so, I never go shopping or out I have 3 friends and am a recluse lol.. I just don't take any crap, I don't believe a word anybody says unless they back it up with fact and I want proof of everything I drive the childrens consultants/therapists insane.. I find out what the children are entitled to and make demands lol..
I actually believe I am way up there on the autistic spectrum, I am not as bad as my mother but she has 20 years more experience and she is way more sociable than I am.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Nice, busy day leads to exhausted Jen...takeaway....leads to toilet-hugging hurling. Ohhhh, what is this baby doing to me?
I just watched that "Is breast best?" program a couple of weeks ago. One of the main reasons that the younger moms in the program didn't bf was because of the fear of being judged in public. This made me extraordinarily sad. If a mom chooses to formula feed, of course I'd support her, but I hate the idea of someone being pressured away from bf. Absolutely the best choice for baby.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -

I got the impression that they thought FF was just the norm for them, rather than being 'pressured' not to, the only pressure seemed to be coming from their low self esteem and being extremely self conscious, and rather immature in their outlook (boys will think you're a slapper if you get your boobs out)
We were all teens once, and I was a teen mum myself, when I said I'd BF DD1 everyone was as shocked as you like (in a good way!) as it was it didn't work out, but that's how it goes sometimes, it wasn't for want of trying.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
