Well done to your OH pigpen! Fortunately my OH gave up before I even met him so one less thing to worry about.

Changing subject slightly, I've been having a good think about things that I might need that will make my life easier when the litlun has arrived. Can anyone give me any advice? So far we need a digital microwave for bottle heating up etc, as we've got a really cheap one that you can't really set the time on. And a tumble dryer, which we don't have, and I will have my work cut out trying to convince OH we need one!!

Also what advice would you give to just generally prepare for our new arrival what things can I put into place to make life easier when the time comes?

I should be getting my scan date through this next week, and I'm hoping my scan will be the week after I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Feeling a bit flat and lonely at the moment to be honest. OH went away on thrusday night. We've spent the last 2 weeks in eachothers pockets as I've been off work and we've been just so excited, and now he's gone and I just feel a bit rubbish, no one to chat to or be excited with. I went to see some family yesterday but hasn't really stopped the lonelyness today, don't really have any friends here either. Don't really know what to do with myself, I am unmotivated and not sleeping either which doesn't help :(

quick question, for those that are near the end of their first trimester, how much weight have you put on? And what is considered normal? I'm starting to worry that I'm overdoing the eating somewhat as my stomach has definitely grown!!

I'm only 8 weeks and already having that concern. I've just been eating what I feel like eating when I want to eat, but since I feel ravenous pretty much most of the time this is causing some concerning weight gain  Surely 8 weeks is too early to be needing bigger trousers and obviously I am just a human hoover? :o

Erm if I put my trousers on, there is a rather considerable amount of muffin top which is def not usually there!!!

On the weight thing, I think your trousers might have to be bigger even if you're not gaining. You sorta lose your waistline. I was working on weight loss before become PG and have lost a bit since then (9 lbs I think), but my jeans that were falling off me are a bit snug in the tummy, even though I'm down more than 20 lbs from when I started wearing them!

I've definitely lost my waist line, there is definitely no in and out, hour glass (ish) figure I used to have, but again I do think most of that is over eating as I'm only about 11 weeks!

That seems to be what has happened to me, my waist is disappearing. Usually if I am just being a hog it is my hips it goes on, but my hips are fine, it is my waist that is the problem ;)

I still weigh half a stone less than I did before I got pregnant but have been in maternity clothes since week 5.. you don't have to gain weight for your body shape to change. I still have a waist (I noticed yesterday) but I have a fairly sizable bump.. which is obviously a bump not lard or bloating.. but my arms are thinner.. I had to tighten my watch strap!

crikey good for you pigpen, do you think that it helps that you're still bf-ing?

I am still undecided on the whole bf-ing issue, to or not to.....
