    Hi everyone

I'm moving over from the Trying thread. Got my BFP today 1-2 weeks, I'm 14DPO tomorrow. Quick introduction, name is Kim, age 28, Married and trying since 10/10, first little one. No symptoms whatsoever so feels quite weird. Going to make appointment for docs for next week.

My DH has noonan syndrome so there's 50/50 chance of each child getting it. I'm not too worried, just means that we will get extra scans of the heart as that's what DH has (little one could still have it but not have the heart defect).

Anyway, babbling. Just wanted to say hi

    Congratulations Kira & KimmyMarky!

That must be amazing WonderWomble - can't wait for my turn.

Scan appointment came through the post at the weekend. Booked for 31st May (this seems like a lifetime away) Not really having any symptoms so doesn't feel real. (.)(.) are still a little sore but no where near as bad as they were and more tired than ususal but so far no ms - still paranoid and tempted to do another test but If I keep doing them I will spend an absolute fortune.

i am 11+0 today. feeling nervous as i had m/c on 11+2 last time. eeekk...

if i can get through to next tuesday without any bleeding i will be very happy.

got my dating scan on 13th may so still a while to wait for that. i will be 13+3 by then!

am quite tempted to go to epu for a scan to reasure myself before the dating scan. they said i can ring anytime and go in.

my dh thinks it's silly to have too many scans as i have already had two but it might help - do you think they will be open on bank holidays?

Argh. Come home today, to find a letter saying that our scan, scheduled for some 48 hours from now has been moved to 12:30! Hello...my husband and I have jobs. I had to work out to leave early for the 2:30 appt. So now, I've spent an hour texting both mommies (nanny to two girls from two different families), calling my backup person to see if she can work Thursday, growling at my husband who now may end up taking the whole freaking day off if we have to wait long at the scan. Neither family knows that I'm pregnant (till after the scan) so having to be creative to explain why I'm going to the "specialist".

I love our GP, but I hate hate hate our local trust. Once I had an appt rescheduled twice (for a broken ankle!). They never call, only send letters. Last time with the ankle, I gave up after 2 1/2 hours of waiting and over an hour of being told I was "the next one". (which was obviously not true). Any thought I had of a hospital birth at this place is completely gone. Don't they know that pregnant mothers are supposed to avoid stress?

    Stupid stupid stupid....

    /end rant

In other news, GP (our surgery is fab) *called* and said that blood tests were good, except that hemoglobin was a bit low, and suggested the super iron tablets. Ew. Iron level is fine though, which was weird.

    Welcome to KimmyMark, btw! :)

pebbles, I've been saying to myself this afternoon that I need to think positively, so I'll say it to you too. :p I'm not sure what to say about the scan. I do think that at some point, you have to rest and just have faith that everything's going to be ok. It's really hard to do that in the first trimester though, eh?

missymoo- my husband and I are fanatic about cars... Still, it was hard to keep from laughing when I was solemnly informed yestarday that if I went into labour, we'd get to the hospital in the good car.

The reason? The seats are leather, and easily cleaned. He looked proud to have thought of it, so...... :)

Going shopping tonight, as no real bump yet- but I'm now a H cup in a bra!

Iamjen- you should have heard the comments I had from the receptionist when I booked a midwife initially- she asked why I needed to see one! Docs app was to be scheduled directly after, and she kept trying to book it for two different days- I work too, and don't want to disrupt it more than I have to. Then she asked could it not wait til the end of summer? It's a first scan- I'd be over 20 weeks somewhere at that point. Can see it being interesting in the future..... Can fully sympathise.

Thanks for the post Lirin. We've been waiting for this scan before we tell everyone (including our parents, best friends..everyone) so the thought of waiting longer was horrible. (They said they could get us in in like 2 1/2 weeks, but then they thought too late for nuchal...). Did you manage to sort things out for your first scan eventually? I'm so glad at least that the midwifery team in town seems wonderful!

Lol @ your husband and leather cars. Has he ever tried to get stains out of leather? :p (this is what towels are for)

  • Had positive test result on Good Friday :j

My first baby is a big girl of 5 now so this is a rather long awaited wonderful surprise

First test was negative (think I was a bit too eager) but second one said 1-2 weeks so it's VERY early days. Based on my workings due date will be Christmas Eve - how fab is that! Well not fab for the poor baby really....

Still very early so can't tell anyone (except for hubby of course) but thought I could tell you all on here and get excited noises back :)

    Hi Monkey

I'm at the same stage as you too. We can be bump buddy's, lol :p. Think mine will be due 3rd Jan, but a few days early so it will be this year would be nice :D. It's nice to have people to talk to here as like you said it's a secret (I hate secrets).

I'm hoping that I don't start to show before my 12 week scan as I wont be able to fit into my uniform in work, and I work with all men who would definately notice if my bum and tum get bigger, lol!!
