    Hi ladies,
Hope your all well. Diddling along, had scan and a heartbeat was seen, but still worried sick untill I go to london after what happened last time. Sickness is here, but keeping it at bay with vitamin b6, mad dreams, and tired and disrupted sleep! All normal stuff.

Tired, sleepy and sleeplessness- that's a good mix. I also have near constant indigestion and heartburn, it's getting depressingly 'normal'.... I'm also quite low blood pressure pre-pregnancy, and it's plummeting now, I've had to grab a wall a couple of times now....
Feel like I'm in flux- the doc was useless and wouldn't even prescribe anything for the indigestion until my partner visited the surgery begging! I've been told nothing at all- only a due date, which I'd already worked out.
I see the midwife for the first time on 04 May (Star Wars Day, should be easy to remember!!), and have a few questions.....

I do still wake up most mornings with a little self-doubt- I don't feel pregnant. Though, not ever having been pregnant before, I wouldn't have the faintest idea what that feels like in any case. Generally, I feel slightly floaty most of the time, and occasionally, like I've been run over by a dumper truck. The floaty I don't mind..... :)

    Welcome Kira!

Lol @ Lirin. I know exactly what you mean. I must admit to some relief when that first wave of nausea hits, even though it's gnarly, because it's a reminder that someone's still in there. :) Be really careful wrt your blood pressure, you don't want to fall and hit your head or something.

Thanks ladies. It is very exciting, but the constant pee-ing (which started about 4 DPO!) is annoying already and very hard to hide from my colleagues as i keep having to run out the room during the never ending meetings i go to!

I've been to register at the GP (new to the area), and i have an appointment with the doc on Tuesday.

I'm a bit worried really, as i know i am well overweight for my height, and i'm dreading the haranguing i'm bound to get and all the horror stories they will probably tell me about risks of being an older first time mother (35) and very overweight. On the upside, i know my BP is actually not bad at 108/53, so high blood pressure not too bad, and i dont drink or smoke.
I've done my reading on gestational diabetes so DH and I are both cutting our sugary carbs intake and just going to make sure i keep up doing regular gentle exercise walking or swimming.

    *sigh*

All sorts of sleep issues here too. I'm starting to wee a bit less, so that's helping some. Was 3-4 x's/night for awhile, even after making myself go right before bed. I had to go more often than my toddlers at work! Now, just 1-2 x's, waking early, tiredness throughout day, and some *really* far out dreams.

Nursie, why would they give you grief for telling? They're going to be over the moon happy for you!

Had my booking in appt today and loved the midwife! She was very personable, answered my questions and didn't judge. :p So glad that she seems fab...was very nervous about that.

I don't know Jen! I've never been pg before and don't know the rules! They are going to be over the moon, you're right. I suppose we feel so happy that I'm just scared that someone else's reaction won't match ours. They are both lovely, supportive families so sure it will be fine.

  • Massive congrats Wonder Womble!

I can't wait for my turn.

May I ask why you had an early scan? Was it a private one?

    Hellloooooo

Sorry I haven't been around, have been camping in Wales, which was lovely apart from having to navigate my way to the loo at 3am most nights!!!!

Congratulations to all the newbies, and big positive sticky bean thoughts for all those that need them. Loving the scan pics, so can not wait for mine!!

Well I'm 9+4 today, bbs aren't as sore and the ms is a whole lot better apart from when I get really hungry then I really struggle. Seem to have developed a huuuuuge stomach though!!! my clothes still fit, but it looks like I've eaten far too many pies!! Is this normal??!!!

Got my midwife appointment on Wednesday, am hoping to try and book an early private scan as OH will miss the 12 week one as he'll be away. Anyone know how you go about finding out how to get one? Have had a look on the internet but not having much luck!

The weather is lovely, going to sunbathe all day me thinks :) Hope you all have lovely easter weekends.

I had an early scan because I had been to the Centre for Life undergoing fertility investigations. They had done an internal scan the day before my BFP and they wanted to check all was ok so that we knew we didn't have to go any further with any of the other investigations.

I think you usually only get an early scan if you've either had fertility investigations/treatment or if the midwife is concerned abut the baby. My sister had an early scan as her MS suddenly disappeared at 9 weeks. With her previous pregnancies it had lasted all the way through. My sister was convinced the baby had stopped developing and was so anxious and upset that they gave her an early scan to put her mind at rest.
