Thanks all for the kind words and advice.
Used this site for a while and knew i'd get a quick clear answer. Thanks.
We still going to pop into doctors.
Her last period was on 15th february so that would make her at the moment at 7+1 but i think its more like 6+3 cause of the longer periods. Either way well chuffed.
Feel a bit guilty though as im perfectly fine and normal and she is really suffering lol!. I mean she almost gipped up on me this morning. And could only eat around the crumpet i gave her in bed (made it look like a star).
She had to tell her employees as she struggling at work already. We alreay told all the family too.
Its funny from the first pregnancy test you got to wait 2.5 months to see.. im so impatient.

Neas.. due date 24th November then..
give or take a few days.. Make sure she is drinking plenty and get her to docs if it doesn't improve!! The travel sickness wrist bands might help.. you could surprise her with some and some ginger tea or ginger biscuits.. ginger is meant to help too.

Hi everyone. Had the scan and everything is ok. We'll apart from the understaffing which meant I was sat there for a for an hour with a full bladder waiting for my turn!!
Baby was jumping about and waving his/her arm. It's amazing the difference in change since my scan 3 weeks ago when it was a blob. So relieved.
How do I insert a picture? When I click on the icon it's asking me to add a URL. It's on my desktop.0 -
Neas.. I have been using the travel sickness bands (from Boots) which I believe really helped me and I was very sceptical about them to start with. Also ginger biscuits or Tuc biscuits have helped me when I've been feeling sicky.
The best advice I can give is not to allow your partner to get hungry and have an empty stomach. Whenever I was hungry I would feel so sick then not want to eat which made it worse. Snacking on the biscuits regularly will really help stop that.0 -
SVsandy - Awww I'm glad your scan went well! So cute!
Pigpen - Yes I will be going to that hospital - I live not too far from it which is good seeing as I spend a lot of time there lol.
Snagglepuss16 - My mil is really lovely, we get on very well. It's the step-mil that I dont agree with lol. It's weird because I knew her before I met my DH and I met him through her (This was before she became his step mum). Families are strange lol.
My scan is on April 13th so if someone could add that to the list that would be great!
Welcome to the newbies!!!
Edit: I've found mints help loads with my sickness, haven't needed to use anything else except sips of water.0 -
I refuse to go... it makes me stroppy and I want to beat the staff to death for their incompetance and apathy and laziness. When I had squeak I had to be stopped from telling one of the midwives she was supposedly trying to get a baby to feed by manhandling his head and the poor baby was distraught them she said oh you might have to give him a bottle and set the mum off... disgusting treatment and ignorance!
I don't have a very high opinion of obstetricians or midwives and will tar them all with the same brush until they prove themselves competent.. I am up to a grand total of... 3 decent midwives.. Diane (delivered DD2 went above and beyond) Maxine (delivered or would have had he not been too speedy DS3) and Alex (who I had with Squeak) I am yet to find a decent obs. cons.
Who are you under Toria (just being nosey.. seeing if it is the guy I want to kill with my own bare hands... )LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Welcome Lirin and neas!
neas...I have the same issue. Cycles were about 35 days and we'd been keeping well track of my own cycle and well, activity. When I call to register with the midwife, the receptionist insisted that I go with the date from start of my last cycle, but I know full well that I'm a week behind that. I think the only times it makes a difference though is for the scans (particularly if you have the nuchal fold scan which has to be done at a certain time), and in the end when your wife may be pushed to deliver because she's "overdue". It's really quite silly, but yeah.
On the ms, I too am finding that little and often helps. In the morning, a couple of us have found that it helps to lay awake for awhile (like 20 minutes or more) before getting up and moving around. Your wife may find that certain food help or hinder especially as well. Anything with lots of salt or spice has been pretty good to me so far, but anything sweet (except orange juice for some reason) generally makes me want to hurl. I can't believe this baby has turned me off chocolate!
SVsandy...that is wonderful news! I'm up tomorrow and I don't know how I'm going to be able to sleep tonight. We're having an early scan because of some risk factors, so it will sort of be the confirmation that the baby is *really* there. Then I just have to convince my husband that we can't tell the world yet.
I've been thinking about those travel bands. I've seen ones with magnets and ones that are acupressure based...which ones do you guys like?Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0
